We got a fine of 5700 USD from Amasty
We have for many years been loyal customers of Amasty, paying for full-service subscription with 30+ extensions.
Some time ago Amasty informed us that we had exposed their composer keys on GitHub. I don’t know GitHub at all and it seems that by mistake my developer has made this error. I understand that this is harmful for Amasty, and I have expressed how sorry I am. We have followed all their instructions to fix and remove this. Everybody can do a mistake, and this is clearly a mistake.
Despite our apologies they have blocked our access to the extensions and given me a fine of USD 5700,- for this error. This is money I don’t have in our little company, and this creates great problems.
I have attempted several times to express how sorry we are, but they refuse to remove the blockage and the fine. And they are doing so with a polite smile, as if they are enjoying this.
I don’t know what to do.

Utterly Disappointing – Amasty ChatGPT SEO Writer for BigCommerce is a Waste of Time and Money
I am extremely dissatisfied with the Amasty ChatGPT SEO Writer for BigCommerce. Despite spending hours testing every prompt variation—including the official {{global.input}} and multiple examples from Amasty’s own support—I could not get this app to generate anything close to a proper, SEO-optimised category or product description.
No matter how clearly or simply the prompt was written, the app constantly ignored essential instructions, merged headings and content, left out sections, and produced generic, repetitive nonsense. It doesn’t follow basic formatting rules, fails to use keywords or headings correctly, and the so-called “SEO” output is nowhere near what any serious e-commerce site needs. Even the default prompts provided by Amasty are completely inadequate for anyone who wants professional, well-structured, or SEO-friendly content.
I have worked with other AI copy tools and none have been as unhelpful or frustrating as this one. If you care about quality, structure, or search performance, avoid this app. It wasted my time and delivered zero value. Absolutely not recommended.

Have used Amasty extensions for years and found they are always reliable, good quality and easy to install. Unfair Billing for Canceled Order – No Refund Provided
I had a very disappointing experience with Amasty. I canceled the Landing Pages extension on May 2, 2024, which included a free PWA add-on. Despite canceling the main extension, I was still charged almost a year later for the renewal of the add-on — which was never ordered separately, never used, and not usable without the main extension.
When I contacted support, they refused to issue a refund, citing subscription terms, even though the product was clearly tied to an already canceled order. I explained this clearly, but the response was unhelpful and inflexible.
This feels like an unfair billing practice, and it’s disappointing to see a company ignore common sense in favor of rigid policy. If they continue this way, I recommend proceeding with caution and closely monitoring all subscriptions — even for free add-ons.

Worst Custom Development Experience
I have been an Amasty customer for years. I have purchased dozens of their extensions and unfortunately, many of these require custom development. When I asked for help from their custom development team, my experience turned into a nightmare. They started with a budget of 15 hours, and I ended up paying for about 60 hours—everything became an extra. After 60 hours, they asked me to pay for another 44 hours for further customization. Despite the excessive number of hours (designed to make me pay more and more without limits), they told me they had calculated wrong. The necessary hours were actually 90 more. In my opinion, this is a scam. I do not recommend their support to anyone.

We've been using several Amasty extensions for a few years now. We are in the process of implementing HYVA theme for our Magento stores. I will not use it anymore
I am a web developer, worked and probably always be working for multiple companies and always advised Amasty Modules in each company I work for. But I will not use it anymore, never. Their crazy support subscriptions fees, will expire before you will have your Magento store in production, believe me. Also their license system does not work properly, has bugs in your admin with a constant notification, again to renew support. After buying for around 1000 dollar of plugins, I received a email to renew support, quicker then I actually used/installed these plugins. Terrible how you changed through the years. For me this is enough, I will prefer custom solutions from now on.

Terrible Company - Stay Away
Terrible Company. I purchased their "Improved Layered Navigation", you would expect that the extension is very smooth and functional. However, they purposely make the extension not very good, so you must pay for customisations on top of the already £339 extension!
I had a list of customisations I wanted to implement for the extension. When purchasing the extension I sent many emails to Amasty support to understand the costs for my customisations. I was told that all customisations can be completed using their "Amasty One Support" package. I was thinking great! So I went ahead with it.
As soon as the support package was purchased, they started to say that my customisations were out of scope of the Amasty One Support package and I had to work with their specialist developer team which they outsource! The customisations went from a confirmed cost of £120 to actually costing over £5,000. Absolutely ridiculous!
Furthermore, this gets worse. I wanted 4 more final tweaks for the extension to work perfectly. I paid their usual extortionate cost, they implemented the changes onto our staging site. The customisations were complete and working as requested. They sent me the code in a zip file to implement on our live site. I got my developer to implement the code and the customisations were not working correctly. I then contacted them saying the customisations have not worked and they suggested to check the staging site to confirm the customisations are still working as requested. I then completed testing and the customisations were now not working on the staging site. They were the only people with access to the staging site, so if any issues occurred, it could only be due to their team. You would expect them to resolve the issue and help their customer. This is what they did - "You confirmed the changes were complete" and "We fulfilled our obligations within the initial requirements". This meant I paid £1,500 and none of the 4 final customisations were complete. I couldn't believe this was possible! Terrible service. Please stay away, I don't want anyone to go through this.
When reading this review please keep in mind that they are rated 4.5 star mostly due to easy extension implementation, this is their job if they couldn't provide extensions and install them the company wouldn't be around. If you are looking to implement customisations please read through the reviews specifically talking about customisations.
