We were a bit unsure where to start with getting our loft done. We spoke to several people - some cheaper, some pricier - but Joe was great. It was clear he had ample experience, brought a few ideas to help us out and also that he cared a lot about doing a great job, as their Instagram feed shows.

The build was (as much as these things can be!) relatively painless. The couple of weeks delay mid job wasn't their fault, just part and parcel of dealing with a lot of moving parts.

The job was really thorough and we are very pleased with the result. We got to know the whole team and there isn't a weak link anywhere. Everyone was communicative, professional, tidy, skilled and also nice to have around. And whenever Joe recommended someone outside of Eliot, Justin, Danny, Lun etc like Lukas, they were excellent.

Would recommend Alto to anyone and would use them again in a heartbeat if they ventured outside of lofts!

Deciding on a company to undertake our loft conversion was daunting. We did a lot of research and saw a number of companies. We had pretty much decided on another company which had been recommended but having seen some reviews of Altolofts work we decided to see Joe. His approach was so different from other companies which was very much ‘one size fits all’. Thanks to his ability to see a space creatively, he maximised every bit of our loft to create a much bigger master bedroom and en-suite than other companies had come up with.
Joe has a forensic eye for detail and aesthetics. As a result we have an extraordinary space which we love.
In addition, Joe has a dedicated and talented team who are a joy to have in the house.
It’s never easy having people in your house for such a long period of time but to a person, they were a delight. They are also highly skilled and have done a beautiful job. Special mentions to Elliot, Justin, Andrew and Jas and Loong.
We love our new loft and can’t recommend Altolofts highly enough.

We just had Joe from Altolofts convert our dreary loft, which we used for storage, into an amazing one large bedroom ensuite with floor to ceiling windows. He has a great team, professional throughout. Any issues during the build are dealt with promptly. I would happily recommend them.

Joe and his team converted our loft into a master bedroom with a beautiful en suite bathroom. He has surrounded himself with brilliant people whose work is faultless. In these projects communication is key, so it was a pleasure to have questions answered in pretty much real time through his system of using WhatsApp groups for each project. We interviewed 8 firms for this Job . Alto was the last company we came across. But after meeting Joe it was self evident that he understood what people want from a project like this and also had the experience and creativity to guide us through decisions that we were unsure on how to make. Having been involved in around 8 fairly big house renovations projects over the years, I can honestly say working with Alto was the most smooth and stress free experience I have had.

Absolutely excellent loft, best Ive seen by a country mile. The ground to ceiling windows a winning feature provides a real wow factor.

Joe and his team done my loft in July 2017 . I didn’t know what design would be best and Joe comes up with ideas. I wanted a luxury en-suite and he moved things around to fit everything I wanted in it . The team were great. Nothing was too much for them.

Joe and his whole team of tradespeople were amazing from start to finish. They were understanding of our needs, polite and considerate, punctual, well-organised and kept us updated every step of the way. Our loft conversion started in December 2020. The weather was terrible, but the team kept going throughout the winter months. A problem occurred during the night, however, just one phone call for help and they came without delay. Special thank you to everyone involved in the build. We are very pleased with our new space and we have no hesitation in recommending Alto Lofts.

We have had a loft conversion conducted by Alto lofts on a Victorian terrace. JJ and Wayne did a fantastic job and kept us fully up to speed throughout the build. JJ managed the work well and ensured that every request was dealt with.
Joe designs a loft that, as standard, is a cut above the rest. We got in touch with several other companies asking for specific plans and when you look at the detail Joe is worth the extra.
The loft was done to an exceptionally high standard letting in masses of natural light. Joe is a very honest man and did not overcharge for the extras that you expect in a loft conversion. Extremely happy to recommend!

No hesitation in recommending Joe and Altolofts. Joe and all of his crew were a breath of fresh air to work with from start to finish. Work was done to a very high standard with minimum disruption (I work from home with an office on the first floor), good humour and exceptional standards of tidiness. The build was run very efficiently by Dunstan and Justin but also important to say everyone who worked on the build was very polite and courteous. The consultation about design, attention to detail and finish was exceptional. The loft was converted last year ( May 2019).

Joe at Altofts is passionate about giving you the best loft you can afford. I had see a loft that had been done by Altolofts so I contacted Joe in 2018 for a quote and on receiving it I booked him on the spot. The team I had were dedicated, clean, polite and have done a fantastic job. I love my private space along with my own en-suite. Joe and his team listen to what you want and give advice when you need it.

Joe and his team have just finished converting our loft to a large bedroom, bathroom and my very own walk in wardrobe. 
Throughout the whole process the team were all excellent and Joe kept in touch all the way to ensure everything ran smoothly. They were able to take the plans we had with our ideas and really bring them to life into something unique which we look forward to enjoying for years to come.

Having had previous experience in other properties with other large conversion companies I can safely say that you are getting a much better and personal service with Joe and all the team at Alto lofts. A top team to build your loft!! I wouldn't even think twice!!

With a growing family, we decided to get the loft in our Victorian terrace converted in 2019. Alto lofts was recommended to us from a number of sources and after meeting Joe, we could immediately tell that here was an experienced builder who believed in creating a quality living space for his clients.

Once the build started, all the different trades were very friendly and tidy and great with the children. My son even starting wearing his cap back-to-front to be "just like Jimmy". As a keen DIYer, they always had the time explain what they were doing and to advise me on my own projects.

When the building inspector made one of their scheduled visits, he commented on the quality of the build and that we "certainly wouldn't be cold up here" with the level of insulation Alto Lofts installed, well above the thickness required.

As with any build, especially to a 100 year old building, there were a couple of hiccups along the way but these were resolved fully and in a friendly manner.

Having spent the lock-down working full-time in my new office space, it was great timing to have this work done. I now just need to get the rest of the house up to the same high standard.

We got prices from other companies but we picked Altolofts because Joe stood out as someone who was actually was listening to what we wanted, suggested ideas, was passionate about doing a great job and was open and transparent about the process and what to expect.
Throughout the build, Joe and his team were friendly, considerate and very consultative.
There were a few minor set backs along the way, but it was easy to address these quickly and amicably.

Cannot recommend highly enough. Most competitive quote for exceptional work. Joe and team are an absolute dream - from being so thoughtful about tidying up, to the order they do the work for minimal disruption, to being brilliant with kids. On top of all this, their work is such a high standard - they consult at every point and offer creative solutions that are a bit different to the rest. If I moved and did another loft conversion I genuinely wouldn’t look at any other company.

Great company from initial quote to completed job. Joe the owner is very friendly and knowledgeable with great ideas and nothing is too much trouble. He really wants you to have the best possible loft you can afford.
Kept to time, were nice and clean and we were able to live in with a one month old while the work was being completed.
