2 dresses
I bought two wedding guest dresses to get fixed and they did exactly what I asked for. They were great. Thanks!
Great service
Great service - Angelica did a fantastic job altering a number of garments for me - thoroughly recommend
I took a much loved 20 year old coat…
I took a much loved 20 year old coat into the Alteration yard in Woking as the collar was seperating from the coat and the lining needed repairing - to be honest I was not sure if it could be done as it was all a bit of a mess.
The guy who I spoke to was really helpful and even got a second opinion from one of their people (Angelica) who instantly described how they would sort it . In the end I opted to just have the collar fixed because I couldnt really afford to have the lining replaced which was probably the best way to entirely fix the coat.
Dropped off on Monday afternoon, told it would be ready Friday afternoon - got a text on Thursday to say it was ready !
Angelica took the time to show me what she had done and the work was top knotch - she had even stitched the lining as a tempoary repair at no additional cost which was amazing.
I think these people are on the money, others have mentioned rudness (maybe its a cultural difference) , I had the complete opposite experiance.
The coat looks fantastic and I am really happy with the service.
I will be using them again for sure.
Staff are brilliant, excellent alterations
The staff in the Haslemere shop are very friendly and extremely helpful. They were enthusiastic about finding a solution to the broken zip on my coat when I explained it was a favourite and that the rest of the coat was perfectly fine. They were able to fix the zip, which was a lot more cost-effective than replacing it. I have since been back with two pairs of trousers that needed to be taken up and a tablecloth that was too big. Their pricing is very reasonable, especially for the workmanship and the attentive staff.
Long Sleeved top for shortening of sleeves
I took a long sleeved top into the Alteration Yard Shop in Wolsey place in Woking. I needed the sleeves shortened as I have short arms. The man on the front desk was very helpful and the lady was prompt in sorting out my sleeves. She pinned up one arm and knew exactly what needed to be done. I wasn't in a hurry for my top, but the work was done very quickly and ready for collection within a few days. I am very happy with my new top. The staff are very friendly and always happy to have a little chat and sort out the clothes for alterations. They even do dry cleaning which is a bonus as well.
We went in to get my son’s jacket…
We went in to get my son’s jacket repaired at alterationyard Woking because the zip had broken, and the team were absolutely brilliant. They were so friendly, welcoming, and happy to help. They fixed the zip on the spot and didn’t even charge for it. You don’t often find service like this anymore—quick, kind, and genuinely caring. I’m really grateful and will definitely be returning. Highly recommended!
Alteration Yard Woking Margaret

Great Service

First class tailoring!!
It’s very rare to find a first class tailor. I bought a brand new expensive suit, and they shortened the sleeves. Because of the sleeve buttons, they had to take both sleeves off, shorten from the shoulders and put the sleeves back on. Their work is impeccable. Would definitely recommend.
Dreadful service would never go back!
Dreadful service would never go back!
Both in customer service and the repair service that ruined 2 out of 3 items taken in. Firstly they don't show any prices on display, so you have no idea re charges for each item. Secondly, they put the cheapest lightweight zip in which was too long for the coat so it doesn't lie flat/buckles and the zipper itself is so lightweight it's ridiculous. Made a decent expensive puffer coat cheap looking.
Lastly and most importantly they ruined a £50 pair of jeans. After carefully choosing the denim patch that we wanted to show thru the already present designer rip, they managed to sew the whole rip up without any new denim showing thru! Why on earth would you do that when the piece of denim serves no purpose!! It just made them bulky and stiff and impossible to wear and one leg shorter than the other!! They have since unpicked their mistake but as they have trimmed off all the designer rip vintage tear and strands they have ruined the jeans.
This was all after them never ringing to say the order was ready and losing the order on arrival we had to identify it for them.
Many months of communications later, after eventually been suggested a replacement pair would be sourced, the owner retracted that and offered a £15 refund and the jeans back when they have permanently ruined the jeans! Avoid at all costs! Very disappointed!
Diabolical customer service!!!
Extremely rude and aggressive customer service from the foreign seamstress guy when I requested amendment. The owner is fully aware why he is getting this 1 star. Stay clear from this store unless you like being shouted at aggressively. Crown Alteration in peacocks are much better option in Woking.
Worst receptionist...lady was extremely rude.
Not surprised that other people have also written about the reception lady in the Woking shop. She is extremely rude. Don't know how to speak to customers. Sorry but I think she is mentally sick. Unbelievable experience! Owner of the shop should chuck her out straight away as he is losing business because of her. I am never going back to the shop.
I’ve spent a lot of money in this place…
I’ve spent a lot of money in this place never going back asked for my clothes to be dry cleaned only the owner decided to have them washed and dried only the came back discoloured my dressing gown had shrank when I complained he admittedly sorted it out but I was informed I wasn’t welcome their anymore owner is arrogant and obnoxious

Great Service in Woking. Always helpful and efficient.
Over the years I have had fantastic service from the Alteration Yard in Woking. On the 31st of December they mended a hole in a treasured jumper very neatly and efficiently. Lovely people too.
Fantastic shop
I like the alteration yard shop. The receptionist is really lovely and always has time for a chat. The work is fantastic and always do a brilliant job. I have had lots of alterations done to various garments. I have even got a jacket altered for my mother and a brand new zip put in the jacket. The shop front always looks clean and tidy. The best alteration shop in Woking.
Bad experience
Bad experience, Receptionist (older lady) was extremely rude, there is a way if speaking to people (customer service) and I'm afraid this person did not know how to treat people.
Rude before we even got in the shop. We were standing outside, she came up to us and said, this shop or that one? Pointing to Boots, we said excuse me? So she repeated again, we said this shop, she said you need to wait 2 mins as not open, plus look out for the vultures?????
Very strange????
Will not return, awful woman with a terrible attitude.
Friendly and talented staff
Friendly and talented staff, they always do an excellent job.
