Don't order frozen meat online if you…

Don't order frozen meat online if you have to use this place. I ordered a few items and they're borderline defrosted when they arrived.

I live in an apartment and ordered some frozen meat. They add 50p per item for "temperature control fee" which is an ice pack and then shipped overnight.

They used APC for overnight shipping who left it with our managed lodge and wrote "porch" for where they'd left the parcel. There's 5 apartment buildings in my complex. No texts to update. If I hadn't checked my email, or didn't have the chance to check at the lodge, it'd still be sat there defrosting.

Price not over write the requested mark price

Today I try to purchase one of the green coconut. When took from shelf. I saw the price mark £2.39. On the till they charged me £2.79 I asked them. And explained the authorities guy. I ask them to over write the price for when I saw lower price. He refused my request. So all the customers. Be careful for your thinks when you buy from this shop. I visited at 20:31 then I asked them to took off the item.

My oder was well packed and quickly shipped.
I ordered some Sri Lankan food from allibhavan.com 4 days ago on Friday and the pier was dimly delivered via DPD today (Order #10680). I'm pleased to say that my oder was carefully packed and safely and timely shipped. Oder was complete and items were in top notch quality. Thank you allibhavan.com. I'll be shopping again with you.

Don't Buy Go to Allibhavan Watford service Disappointed with My Purchase at Allibhavan

I recently visited Allibhavan and ended up purchasing the wrong frozen food item. I walked home in the rain for 15 minutes, only to realize immediately that I had bought the incorrect item. Despite returning it within 15 minutes, and knowing their website states frozen items can be returned within 24 hours, my attempt to resolve the issue was mishandled. This is not the first time I have faced similar problems—even for metal items purchased incorrectly and returned on the same day, the store refused a replacement citing policy inconsistencies.
When I called the store to speak with the manager or senior staff, the person who answered accused me of being in a hurry and insisted that I submit a written complaint in person, even though I had already spoken to the manager at the shop. The call ended with a simple, unhelpful "sorry we cannot help you". I was not provided with the name or details of the staff I spoke to, which left the situation unresolved and frustrating. This experience clearly shows a lack of proper guidance from the staff, poor understanding of their own return policies, and insufficient support for customers trying to rectify mistakes.
I hope the store takes this seriously, trains their staff properly, and improves their handling of returns and customer complaints to prevent others from facing similar difficulties. The Guy who i spoke to submit my complain end up saying that i am threatening which is ridiculous.

⚠️Please avoid this supermarket ⚠️

Such a rude behaviour and very disrespectful staff including store manager, please avoid going there and there are other asian supermarkets nearby to go.

Always car parking issue and lots of arguments. Too high price for the branding. Please go to other better supermarkets to save your self respect and avoid unwanted arguments with those rude staffs.

Shocking Assault Incident by Staff Member

We’ve been loyal customers of Ali Bhavan for over 3 years, visiting regularly. But after what happened on 2nd July, we will never go back.

We parked our car and I went to enter the number on the display while my partner was shopping in the store. Out of nowhere, a security guard (who claimed to be the manager) came out and started blaming me in a shockingly rude and aggressive manner. My partner came to the scene, and a major argument broke out. Not a single staff member stepped in to calm the situation or show even basic respect to us as regular customers. Instead, they all backed each other like a gang, treating us like we were nothing.

I tried to record the incident for our safety, as the situation was clearly escalating , and this so called “manager” physically grabbed and hit my phone. Hitting a customer?? That’s beyond unacceptable. This same individual has been unnecessarily rude in the parking area before, but this time he truly crossed the line.

We’ve always supported this place , been friendly with staff, spent a lot of money, and chosen them over other options out of loyalty. But after this disgraceful treatment, we’re completely disgusted. One of us is under NHS treatment for depression, and this incident left him mentally disturbed for days.

To make matters worse, when we asked for the head office contact to file a complaint, we were ignored. No one dare to open a mouth. The staff acted like the rude security guy was untouchable. We managed to get in touch with someone named Suresh at the head office, who promised to call us back… but of course, no call, no apology, no accountability. Just silence.

It’s even more disappointing to see that this isn’t a one-off incident. There are plenty of negative reviews and complaints about this same individual, yet management continues to protect and nurture him. Rather than acknowledging their staff’s wrongdoing, they keep making excuses and trying to spin the situation in their favour , as if abusing and disrespecting customers is justified. That’s not just bad customer service , that’s toxic, shameful business practice.

This place claims to represent South asian culture in London, but their behaviour is an embarrassment to the very community they claim to serve. Zero professionalism. Zero customer care. Protecting arrogant, aggressive staff while disrespecting loyal customers is not just disappointing , it’s damaging to the reputation of the whole South Asian community here.

We’re done. Never returning again. Completely unacceptable and disgraceful.

Incompetent

First I waited at least a month , then I complained , so they sent a totally wrong order ,nothing that I ordered , and now they won't reply to my messages , this is probably my worst on line experience

Stay away from this fraudulent business!

They are not only fraudulent but also very unprofessional in customer dealings. I ordered a rohu fish and 10 mangoes, among other items, in the order. It was Friday, June 13, at 3:15 pm when I placed the order. I chose the delivery date as Tuesday, June 17. They called me on Monday morning, saying that they did not have fish of that size, and I would have to pay £6 more. Although it was a weird experience because other retailers typically inform and send a bigger/better replacement without asking for any additional payment, I paid £6 immediately. However, when I asked if my order would be delivered on Tuesday, June 17, they said it would be Wednesday, June 18. Since I was not going to be available on June 18; so, I had to request them to deliver it on June 19.

I received only 9 mangoes, one of which was damaged. When I called them, the person who picked up the call said that a different person deals with online orders. He noted the order number and said that someone would contact me within a few minutes. However, no one contacted me, so I sent them an email with a picture of the damaged mango and asked for a refund for 2 mangoes.

After a couple of days, they responded to my email saying they delivered 9 mangoes because the total weight of mangoes increased. Also, they asked me to send the picture of the damaged mango again. You can imagine what kind of fraudulent business it is. Luckily, I had taken the picture as soon as I opened the box; otherwise, how would anyone send a picture of a perishable item after so many days? Nevertheless, I called them again to understand why they were talking crap. The person wasted a few minutes of valuable time just explaining why they would not refund 2 mangoes.

While £3.60 (the cost of each mango was £1.80) is not an amount for which I would like to invest this much time, I thought it was worth investing my time to expose how crap this business is.

I would never order anything from them. I suggest that people stay away from this fraudulent business.

I absolutely love this butcher’s shop

I absolutely love this butcher’s shop. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming, and their excellent customer service makes every visit a pleasure. The shop is spotless, and it’s clear that hygiene is a top priority. The meat is always fresh and of the highest quality—it tastes fantastic every time. I’m proud to support this local business and often recommend it to my friends and family, who have all been just as impressed when they visited.

Not going back to this store ever…

Expired food packet on shelf, when informed staff I was questioned that: am I from any food control agency? Very rude treatment, bad customer service and expired food packets as cherry on top.

Be warned

Be warned, their website adds a 49p 'Temperature Control Fee' for every item you order regardless if it is a box of tea or a bag of lentils. Its a scam.

Poor production

We have been buying kithul jaggery for the last one year from Alli Bhavan and last two times it had fungal growth on top.Although they refunded the money both times,their response was not very good.They did not bother to say sorry and surprisingly the manager told it is normal !!!!.

Poor customer service

Although well stocked and open long hours unfortunately the customer care or value is near to non-existent. My family regularly shopped there since it opened, in fact we were one of the first customers on opening day. Therefore when we had one product (frozen chicken tikka) which was inedible when oven cooked or microwaved as per instructions we thought our custom and view would have some worth but unfortunately not. Told nothing could be done as it was our individual taste. The customer care, value or support is non-existent. I would stick to more mainstream shops in the future that value custom and positively want feedback positive or negative.
