Bad Customer Service, Poor Quality, Overpriced & Misleading Website Claims
I purchased a pair of Allbirds boots around 11 months ago, advertised as waterproof and all-weather. I’ve used them very little and taken great care of them. Despite the demonstrations on the website showing water being repelled, the boots have soaked through even in light rain — while I was under an umbrella. This completely contradicts the claims made in their marketing.
I paid £140 for these boots. They are beautiful and comfortable, but the waterproof performance does not match what is being promised. I’ve attached photos as evidence to the customer service team
To make matters worse, I haven’t received any response from a human agent. Customer service appears to be virtually non-existent, and the information on the website feels misleading given my experience.
I do not expect any compensation based on my experience with this company, but I do want other customers to be aware. Unfortunately, I won’t be buying from Allbirds again or recommending the brand to others.

Not so easy returns
I have been a customer for years but needed to return something for the first time, and boy was it an eye opener. Firstly, it's not "30 days free returns" as stated on google, there's an $8 service fee. Then you're given return label for either Aramex or CouriersPlease, then need to search for a local drop off location or local courier pickup. If you don't live near the drop off location their Wolly Bot reply was: "Unfortunately, we don't have alternative drop-off or pick-up arrangements available in this situation. You might like to see if someone can assist with dropping off the parcel for you, or you could look into a local parcel forwarding service, though these options would need to be arranged independently". I live 80km away from the nearest dropoff location, I can't ask anyone to drop it off for me. This needs to be clearly stated on their returns policy page so others aren't caught out either. Pretty disappointed. This is not the "no worries" return I was expecting from Allbirds.
Allbirds, excellent company to deal with.
Allbirds is an excellent company to deal with. They keep you updated on your order and when it will arrive. If there is anything wrong or the product has to be returned, the refund is almost instant. Sadly shoes ordered were too big. Returned for another size. It goes without saying, Allbirds shoes are wonderfully comfortable and I think good value.
Customer Service Appalling
I have never previously had to contact customer services before as just bought my shoes, they got delivered and I got on with it. I wanted to replace a pair of shoes and had seen a pair I really liked, and I told a friend about them who was intrigued. I saw I could refer a friend and we'd both get a discount on a purchase. However when I referred my friend the link that was sent to them didn't give any discount nor was there a code sent. The link just sent them to the "Bestsellers" page with no discount in sight. Clearly a bug. So I contacted customer service thinking it be relatively easy to resolve. I have been emailing back and forth for two weeks now, they just repeat the same thing and offer no pro-active support and now seem to be ignoring me. This has honestly tarnished my whole view of the brand - I have been a loyal customer for several years and have several pairs of their shoes! Actually quite appalled this is how they treat someone invested in their brand and am not surprised they are doing really badly financially as a company.
Return rejected
I received two pairs and wanted to return them. Suddenly, the return was rejected for unknown reasons and the customer service just referenced the terms and conditions. What to do now with shoes that don’t fit for $150!? Never buying again.
Excellent comfortable shoes
Extremely comfortable, light and stylish shoes. Ordering and delivery process was smooth. I now own four pairs of these shoes because they are so comfortable.
banned without explanation
I’ve been a customer of Allbirds for years and own several pairs, so I was excited for their Black Friday sale this year. I placed an order like normal, but minutes later it was automatically cancelled by Allbirds with no reason given.
I contacted customer service and after some email exchanges, they finally admitted I’ve been permanently banned from the site. When I asked why, they refused to give any explanation or details just repeated that the decision was final and couldn’t be appealed.
Very disappointed in how Allbirds treats loyal customers. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere from now on.
So-called Rugged trainers wore through quickly, company disclaimed responsibility...
I bought an expensive pair of 'Rugged' trainers, my fourth pair of Allbirds (and more across my family). The toe area frayed through in less than six months of light use. Then, when contacted, the company said there was nothing they could do. £135 down the drain! This company, formerly excellent, has lost its way. Don't buy.

I have had several pairs of shoes/trainers from Allbirds. They are the most comfortable shoes I own. As an albeit sprightly 70yrs old I am very choosy about footwear. Highly recommended.

I would rate 0 stars if possible. If you buy and return too many shoes (since you can’t try them on without doing so) you are flagged without notification and you will be denied a return or exchange. Terrible experience and customer service policy. They need to be transparent instead of after doing this including you in more marketing campaign to buy shoes with easy returns.
