People frequently reported difficulties contacting customer service, describing it as unhelpful and unresponsive, with calls often leading to dead ends or unfulfilled promises of resolution. Consumers also expressed frustration with the refund process, noting challenges in securing refunds, even in cases of booking errors or cancellations. Hotel cancelled 3 weeks ahead of dead line but NO REFUND

I cancelled a hotel reservation on March 3 2026. The hotels were for April 4 to 7 with a cancellation date for full refund on March 24, 2026.

Because the cancellation was made directly with the hotel in question, Algotel did not consider this a cancellation (completely not logicial).
The room was cancelled 3 weeks prior to the cancellation date. It makes no sense why Algotel decided to keep my money ($1050). This is not a small amount and is more than a mortgage payment.

I will never do business with a company that is capable and willing to screw customers for no particular reason.

I would have understood if the keep a small administration fee (say $25). But no, the kept the entire amount.

I strongly recommend not using such a misguided company for any services.

prepaid hotel booking

I booked a prepaid hotel in Niagara Falls through Trivago. Based on the other reviews, I was worried the booking wouldn't work. But Hilton did have my booking so Algotel does work at least for some bookings.

I booked the Bright Angel lodge at the…

I booked the Bright Angel lodge at the Grand Canyon with Algotels.
1 standard room.
They failed to tell me that my £272 room for one night had a shared bathroom. I found out upon check in.
The should have listed it on the booking or sent an email to let me know.
I have contacted them twice and had no response.

Algotels booked the wrong room.

I originally booked a Standard Double Bed Room at the Hilton in Niagara Falls. When I asked Algotels if the room had 2 double beds or just one, I never got a straight answer back. They just kept saying check your booking, which I had already printed off. I had to call the hotel itself, but they told me a Compact King City View was booked. My daughter and I never asked for that and did not want to sleep in the same bed. I ended up canceling the booking all together, but was back and forth with Algotels by email many times. I just found the whole ordeal very frustrating.

WARNING: Total Scam – Ghost Reservations

Avoid Algotels at all costs. I was redirected here by Trivago for what looked like a great deal. However, when I arrived at my hotel in Panama, the reservation didn't exist in their system. I had to pay for a new room out of pocket. Do not trust this site, even if it shows up on major search engines like Trivago. They sell fake bookings.

Terrible customer service!

Their website proudly states 24/7 customer service. Really? Doesn’t exist. I sent 4 emails, waited for 4 days for a response. I then called twice for a simple date change.

Never resolved. They even lied and stated the hotel declined my request, hotel was never contacted. I ask them to contact hotel manager directly with email provided and they refused.

Just awful service, so frustrating and considerable vacation time wasted. Avoid at all cost!

Very unhappy

I made a reservation 3/05 with a prepay. I was given a booking number and told confirmation would come a bit later. It's now 2 wks until my trip and I have no confirmation. Called hotel, nothing, no prepay. Have had multiple texts, emails requesting my confirmation. They just now sent me my own confirmation I made earlier this am. I have a receipt, but my room is not paid and I had no reservation...

5 STARS FOR ALGOTELS

I am rating Algotels a 5 Star, because they have seriously been an outstanding travel booking agency in helping me with my hotel reservations in Las Vegas, especially when I had to change my mind on my first pick of the hotel resort. They kept me informed via emails on all of my bookings that I had done on Trivago. Definitely, a great travel agency via Trivago, and I loved the rates that they were able to give me, which was a great plus. Thank you so much for all of your help Algotels, I truly appreciated it. In the future, I will book again with Algotels once again.

Fraudulent Algotels/Trivago

I had the unfortunate circumstance of trying Trivago and ending up dealing with algotels. They took my money. And never reserved a room in exchange. Gave me every excuse in the book and ultimately sent me a confirmation number for a reservation I made with expedia after Trivago/Algotels screwed me. Do not use Trivago or Algotels.

No problems at all, expected to have those after reading the reviews

I ended up to this site for reading reviews about Algotels. I even did not know to deal with a company called this since I made two hotel bookings at Wien from trivago.com's "book&go".

After reading these reviews, I was sure I had been scammed. So, I simply asked from those hotels that my bookings were ok. They both confirmed the bookings.

After my trip, I have to say that everything went ok. I had correct rooms and services and they were prepaid. No complaints about algotels.com.

Booking made - money paid - no hotel room to rest my head.

Booking made, money paid. Reservation never made it to the Hotel.

I was left having to book another room directly.

Customer service was disinterested in supporting the claim. Advising the “booking was well in hand” and providing a different booking number, which also did not work.

I responded to the customer service rep, advising the booking was in fact not in hand and I wanted a refund for their failed action.

I was asked for a copy of the invoice which gave me hope. But 3 weeks later, I have not heard from the Algotels, despite being told that “Rest assured, this has been forwarded to the relevant team.

You'll hear from us as soon as there's an update.”

It’s good business promising false hotel bookings and pocketing the money.

Save yourself the trouble and pay the hotel directly or use a reputable booking site. Booking.com Expedia - they have never let me down.

Awful

Awful. Do not use them. Trivago linked me to this site. I have been trying to make a change to the room they booked. It was wrong. Need 2 beds not 1. Been a week snd still no response. The hotel won't help because I didn't book thru them. Go right to hotel to book, these other places are a rip off.

Bad experience with my reservation with Alogtels

Same thing happen with me on Monday March 30 , 2026 , I boked through Trivago however Trivago redirect me to Algotels to finish my Payment for hotel in Cancun from may 2 until may 9. I paid Cad$770 . Algotels send me the Booking confirmation number, I call right away the hotel to make sure they have reservation , unfortunately the hotel told me that no any record about my Booking number , I call Support costumer of Algotels to get explanation , they told me will handle this problem , but after that I couldn't call them again because their phone line always busy . Also I send email and still no replay. I contact my bank to file Dispute , the bank told me I should wait until may 2 to file dispute . I am very concern now about my reservation , because on my arrival day to Cancun I expect the hotel will tell me I have no reservation as happened with many costumers reviews. this is the last time I make reservation with Algotels ,It is very poor Customer service .

Booking through Trivago

Booking through Trivago, I made and paid for a reservation. Upon arrival at my hotel, I was told that there was no reservation, that payment had not been transmitted and that the booker had cancelled the reservation. I contacted Algotels and received no resolution, forcing me to book and pay for the room again. Since then, Algotels has been "investigating" my complaints with no resolution 20 days later (and counting). They claim the hotel confirmed that I used the booking, yet the hotel provided me with the cancellation number and I have documentation of making a second payment through a different booker, both of which I provided to Algotels. I can only conclude that their business model is based on deception and theft.

IMPOSSIBLE to cancel bookings and get a refund.

Booked IBIS hotel through Algotel/ Trivago. Had a completely cancelable reservation. Tried to cancel through the provided portal which didn't work. Contacted them several times got an automated response, which did nothing. They do not respond at all to emails or calls. Basically make it so you cannot contact them in anyway.

I also contacted IBIS / Trivago/ Expedia, who all acknowledge the booking has been made and is able to be cancelled. All companies refusing to help cancel the booking, or give you any real contact for Algotels.

It's a well organised scam, by all involved to make it impossible to get a refund.

Had to contact my bank directly to start a payment dispute.
