Disappointed

For the first time today, I found the staff really unhelpfull, almost like it was too much trouble for them. I was enquireing for the location of an item and got the reply it wasn't in stock, only to later find it myself. Secondly when I couldnt reach something on the top shelf and asked for help, I got the response I'm the same hight as you, even though they did eventually stand on the bottom shelf to reach it. Being a pensioner, I felt that was something I wasn't prepaired to do. I believe he may have been a manager at the store, or at least someone who has workers under him. Now I know they appeared busy restocking items, but taking time to look after customers would seem like a priority. This is a little unusual as in the past I've had no issues in asking for help. Maybe it was just a bad day.

False description.

I was always a big fan of Aldi black cherry conserve. It had many whole cherries or at least half cherries, exactly as a conserve should. The name says it all. When I saw that they had introduced an Ultimate 75% fruit Black Cherry Conserve, I bought two so as to always have one in reserve (we live a good distance away from Aldi). A few weeks passed and I opened the first one. I cannot say how appalling it was. The cherries appeared to have been finely minced, about as far removed from what a conserve should be. I contacted Aldi who told me to go back to the store with my receipt which of course I no longer had. OK said Aldi, go back to the store (7 miles away)with your bank statements and the manager will be able to identify the purchase on there. Really Aldi?? Can you be serious??
I buy a lot from Aldi but this is great way for Aldi to lose any form of customer goodwill or loyalty.
In this particular case Trade Descriptions Act springs to mind.

Zora........ Aldi Worksop

Zora makes my day everytime I visit the WORKSOP branch. She's such a helpful and polite young woman who has gone above and beyond her job role!! Despite all the hustle and bustle she goes out of her way to make sure EVERY customer is treated with respect and compassion. In my opinion she is an asset to Aldi Worksop and deserves recognition. Thankyou again Zora. You're one in a million. X🩷

Went for shopping last Sunday the 13th…

Went for shopping last Sunday the 13th at Aldi Stechford lane Birmingham, me and my family has encountered the guy name obaid who was at checkout till, doesn't have any training or professionalism shown in his act, didn't bother to say hello or whatever, found him quit ignorant, to me its feel like he doesn't like to welcome Asian or brown people even he is from same background too but he might not like his culture or blame parents whatever but any way long story short, I just advise to Aldi management to please allow only those staff members sitting in checkouts who are having pleasant and helpful personalities but not like obaid type guys. Hopefully, Aldi will listen and act.

I went into Bromsgrove store

I went into Bromsgrove store. My chirldren were going to buy me some binoculars for fathers day. I picked the product up and went to find someone in charge.i asked if i could go to the door to try the binoculars out. Im wearing a full body brace and on crutches. I can hardly move. My partner was in store doing our shopping. The staff member said yes no problem. Im one step away from the door and this staff member said your not allowed to do that. even thou he was there when I was told I could do this. I said your joking . He replied no. His body language was threatning and his tone of voice unaceptable. I did let myself down and called him a f------ jobs worth. I had just come from seeing my psychiatrist for treatment PTSD severe mental health and tourettes. He made out it was the end of the world. Instaed of diffusing the situation he made it worst. I was told to leave the store. I walked back into get the keys of my partner. His then making fun of me saying look his walking back in. ive told him to leave. I explaned why i was walking in. Then in front of staff and customers he made fun of my disabilities saying watch you dont fall over on your way out(then laughed) I asked for his name as he was not wearing a name badge but he refused. The end of the day i did everything correct. asked permision/ someone could of come with me. The only thing I did wroung was called him a f------ jobs worth. Are your staff trained to take the micky out of server disabled people Why would he not wear a badge or tell me any part of his name. Why would he laugh at a sever disabled person ?After read customers reviews it seems normal for Aldi staff to be threating to customers.and staff refuse to give there name. Aldi you might be doing ok at the minute. But there is so much compertition out there. You will soon find people will vote with there feet. It seems to be lacking managment

We always use Aldi for our weekly shop and in particular take interest in their weekly offers. This week on offer were packs of 2 fillet steaks. Well! I can honestly say they were the best steaks I’ve ever cooked and tasted. They were lean and tender and absolutely tasty. Shall definitely buy those again 😃

Poor customer service

We did the weekly shop at the Whitstable Aldi, as soon as we started shopping it felt like as a customer we were in the way. One of the staff was aggressively throwing packets around in the soft fruit area. I know he was trying to tidy & restock but allowing customers to get to the fruit might be useful or saying thanks as a courtesy might have helped, it just felt he was rude. This was also reflected when there are pallets in the middle of the aisles & staff takeover, so trying to get a trolley past is difficult. Surely restocking could be done not at peak times on a Saturday morning or making sure that customers can still shop without feeling they are in the way? Staff have come across as plain
rude at the tills when they are aggressively throwing your items through & challenging you to look at your bags.
Really there has to be a balance on providing cost effective goods in a retail setting but not at the cost of alienating the customer & providing poor customer service ??!!

Stinking Bassa fillets. Stunk of bacteria.

Bought fresh fish from the Neath store. Bassa Fillets. Upon opening it stank making me wretch. My friend even asked if i'd broken wind 🤢🤢🤢. A waste of £1.99. I had bought 2 packs of Bassa and 1 pack of Cod but put them in the freezer. We'll see or smell them rather when their defrosted. Very poor by Aldi. Knocked my confidence in buying fresh from there. First issue at Aldi. I can safely say if I'd eaten the rotten bacterial infested fillets, I'd by visiting casualty.
