Applied a 6 month suspension to my account, unable to receive payouts and has drastically affected my business. No reason given for the suspension and customer service provides no support. AVOID!

My business account application was rejected after I provided detailed company information and supporting documents. The company is a legitimate UK limited company, but the rejection message was generic and did not explain what specific issue caused the refusal or whether anything could be corrected.
For a business onboarding process, this was frustrating because I spent time entering detailed information and uploading documents, but received only a final rejection with no clear reason, no actionable guidance, and no practical way to resolve the issue.
A better process would be to provide applicants with a clearer explanation of the problem, especially when the issue may be related to documentation, business address, website readiness, or company structure. At minimum, applicants should be told whether the decision is final because of eligibility criteria or whether additional documents could help.

I am writing to express my strong dissatisfaction with your onboarding process.
After submitting all required corporate documents and undergoing extensive verification steps, my application was rejected without any notification. Unlike other financial institutions that inform clients via email about updates or required actions, I had to find out by pure chance by logging into the dashboard. The platform simply displayed a generic message stating that the activation was denied and that the decision is final.
While I respect your right to decline an application, the complete lack of communication, guidance, or indication as to why it was rejected leaves a highly unprofessional impression.

I would never recommend them. The experience sucks and it’s difficult to reach support. They keep rejecting payments even after you’ve provided every proof. We try same payment through our local bank and it goes through immediately! So why does Airwallex reject it or delay it then?

If i could give ZERO star i would, worst customer service. They just tell you they will look into it and 3 weeks later still looking into it. Please stay out of it if you do not want your funds to be frozen without reason

Without any clear reason they rejected my account creation application while all my documents were 100% clear and I gave all of the details and paperworks correct.

Sarah is very sincere and helpful. She tried to explain all my queries in an organized and clear manner.
Thanks a lot to her help. I figured all my questions regarding the use of airwallex.

Our business account (Sportex Intelligence Ltd) was suspended on 17 June 2026 without prior notice or explanation, with over €21,000 in funds frozen. We immediately provided all documentation requested by Airwallex’s compliance team. Despite full cooperation, our funds remain blocked with no timeline, no explanation, and no meaningful communication — only generic responses saying “the team is working on it.”
As a UK-regulated business, we expect fair treatment under FCA rules. Instead we have been forced to open emergency alternative banking arrangements while our operational capital remains held hostage.
We have now formally referred this matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service (reference PNX-6057907-X4W7) and notified the FCA.
Airwallex may be a fast-growing fintech, but their compliance systems are automated, opaque, and causing serious harm to legitimate businesses. Use them at your own risk — when things go wrong, you are completely on your own.
Update 26 June 2026: Airwallex has replied publicly asking me to get in touch. I have already done so — complaint reference C243/26 is open with their team, and this matter has been formally referred to the Financial Ombudsman Service (reference PNX-6057907-X4W7). I expect a substantive resolution by 3 July 2026.

Overall fine, customer responsive, but for lending, no loan providers / invoice financing providers have any connections to Airwallex in the UK. If you're needing capital to grow which the vast majority of companies are, this is the wrong choice. Stuck with them for too long, moving.

Stay away from this company!
Like thousands of other complaints you will read here, Airwallex will freeze your account without any warning or justification.
We are a legitimate business and do not trade with any restricted countries. Despite this, they froze our account in a way that trapped our funds: we could still receive incoming money, but we were completely blocked from withdrawing it or transferring it to our other corporate accounts.
Furthermore, their compliance process is a nightmare. It is common for outgoing payments to get flagged and delayed. Instead of asking for all necessary information upfront, their team trickles down questions one at a time. After stringing us along for 5 to 6 days—and even after we promptly provided all the requested information—they still canceled the payments.
I have lost valuable customers because of this platform's incompetence. Save your business the headache and stay away!

I’m giving 1 star only because I can’t give 0.
I have NEVER left a negative review before, but Airwallex deserves every bit of this one.
This is by far the worst payment service I have ever used.
They randomly place incoming customer payments under review, and even after providing invoices and supporting documents related to the transaction, they automatically return the funds to the customer.
This creates serious issues with client relationships, leaves a terrible impression, wastes an incredible amount of time, and, most importantly, gives customers an excuse to delay or avoid making payment altogether.
The entire process feels arbitrary, unprofessional.
Without question, the worst service I have ever experienced.
100% the worst payment platform in the world.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience using Airwallex.
Several customer deposits to my business account were rejected after review, yet weeks later I am still waiting for confirmation of where the funds are and when they will be returned. Despite providing all requested information, transaction IDs, and fully cooperating with their compliance team, I have received repeated responses stating that the matter is "under review" without any clear timeline for resolution.
The delays have had a serious impact on my business. Customers were waiting for their money, and due to the lack of progress from Airwallex, I was forced to refund the customers from my own business funds in order to protect my reputation and maintain customer trust.
While the support team has been polite, the overall handling of this case has been frustrating. The lack of transparency, the absence of a clear resolution timeline, and the prolonged investigation process have caused financial and reputational damage to my business.
As a result of this experience, I have lost confidence in Airwallex and intend to close my account once all outstanding matters have been resolved.
I hope Airwallex improves its communication, escalation procedures, and handling of customer funds so that other businesses do not experience similar issues.

Very disappointing experience. We are a legitimate UK freight business (Courierexchange / loadboard) with around £300k turnover. A genuine client paid our invoice through Airwallex, but the payment was flagged as suspicious, our account was blocked, and the funds were held for 180 days.
Compliance checks are understandable, but freezing accounts and withholding funds for such a long period without a practical resolution is unacceptable. Businesses rely on payment providers to support operations, not disrupt them.
Freezing legitimate business money for six months can seriously damage cash flow. Would not recommend.

Rejected without any reason — completely unprofessional
I went through the entire onboarding process with Airwallex, submitted all required business documents for my registered US LLC (BH3 Media LLC), completed every step of the KYB verification — and at the end, I received a single automated message saying: "this decision is final."
No reason. No explanation. No specific issue mentioned. No appeal process. No human support. Nothing.
This is not how a legitimate financial platform treats serious business clients. If there was a compliance issue, a missing document, or a policy restriction — just say it. Businesses deserve transparency, not a copy-paste rejection with zero context.
The support team was completely useless — they couldn't explain anything either. It felt like talking to a wall.
Airwallex presents itself as a global business finance solution, but in reality it operates like a black box that rejects businesses with no accountability whatsoever.
Stay away if you value your time and your business. There are far better alternatives out there — Wise, Stripe, Payoneer — that actually treat their clients with respect.
0/5 — would never recommend.

I evaluated Airwallex for my U.S.-registered company, Meridian Arc Global LLC. Before attempting to apply, I contacted Airwallex support, reviewed their documentation, and explained my business model and situation clearly because I was evaluating a financial platform for business banking/payment operations.
My company is a Wyoming LLC, and I was looking for a business account, cards, international transfers, multi-currency receiving/holding/conversion, and related financial services. A sales/marketing representative also contacted me on WhatsApp, asked about my intended use, and said Airwallex could support my use case, except payment gateway services.
The issue started when I tried to create the account and could not receive OTP on my Bangladesh mobile numbers. I tested three active Bangladesh numbers across different carriers and completed normal troubleshooting. Support first treated it like an OTP/SMS delivery issue. Later, after multiple emails, screenshots, screen recording, repeated explanations, and submission of my publicly available Articles of Organization, Airwallex finally stated that the signup attempt was blocked because the country origin of the phone number was assessed as high risk under their controls.
The most concerning part is that this limitation was not disclosed earlier. In my earlier support ticket more than a month ag in May, Airwallex encouraged me to proceed through the standard application flow and confirmed that the United States was a supported registration country, but did not clearly explain that a Bangladesh-origin mobile number could be treated as high risk or might not be reliably supported for signup/security verification.
Airwallex also said they could not guarantee in advance that a Bangladesh mobile number would be reliably supported for future login, OTP, 2FA, account recovery, transfers, withdrawals, or security checks. For a financial platform, that is a serious operational concern. Account access, security verification, withdrawals, and recovery must be reliable.
This was not frustration; it was a security and business-continuity concern. I spent significant time evaluating Airwallex professionally, but the support process was slow, unclear, and only disclosed the core issue very late. If Bangladesh mobile numbers are not reliably supported, that should be clearly stated in documentation or early support communication.
I decided not to proceed with Airwallex and requested ticket closure, deletion of submitted documents where legally possible, and removal from marketing/follow-up lists.
Airwallex may work for some companies, but based on my experience, founders using Bangladesh mobile numbers should clarify OTP, 2FA, recovery, transfer, withdrawal, and ongoing account-security support before investing time in the onboarding process.
Because of their lack of transparency and poor customer support, I would not recommend Airwallex for serious business operation.
