Can't get hold of anyone to start a business account. Getting AI-generated "rejection" from my account setup, no explanation. Quite interested in using the product for FX and Spend management but they seem to be lacking any humans to facilitate.

I have never really had any problems with bank transfers through Airwallex HK until now. This time, my supplier sent two commission payments to my account, but both were rejected — which normally wouldn’t be an issue.
The real problem is that it has now been over a month, and the funds are still with Airwallex and have not been processed. The support team keeps asking for the sender’s account details again and again, even though the transfers were sent from Payoneer. Airwallex only needs to cancel the transfers and refund the money, but nothing is being done.
At this point, I’m starting to feel like the funds are being intentionally withheld. I had no choice but to leave this review because I urgently need the money. These are four payments with a total value of more than €18,000.

I have been scammed by Airwallex of over $130,000. They deliberately delaying every transaction cause severe business distress and panic.
It was only partially released after a police report was made many days later. By then my relationship with my client had already broken down.
There is no way to contact Airwallex. No hotlines, no physical office. Only a help desk managed by Zendesk which they often ignore and don’t reply you for days.
STAY AWAY FROM AIRWALLEX AND THEIR SCAM TACTICS

Also one of the worst companies out there. Onboarding fails for completely legal, low risk company that doesnt do any of their forbidden markets. Support impossible to reach. I wouldnt trust them with my money even if they reach out to us.

I’ve been using Airwallex for about 3–4 years with absolutely no issues. My business is fully legitimate, my transactions are clean, and I’ve never had a single chargeback. Despite this long history and consistent, stable usage, Airwallex abruptly sent me a “Payment Service Termination Notice” and shut down my ability to accept payments.
They also informed me they would be holding $1,000 of my funds for 180 days, even though there are no disputes or outstanding issues. When I reached out to support to understand what happened, I was told they “cannot comment due to security and legal reasons,” which gives me zero clarity and no chance to resolve anything.
It’s shocking and extremely frustrating that after years of using their platform without problems, they can simply shut down my account overnight with no warning, no explanation, and no opportunity to fix anything. As a long-term user, this feels like a huge breach of trust.
Airwallex’s risk system clearly misclassifies businesses and their support team provides no transparency. If you run a business and rely on consistent payment processing, be aware that even loyal customers of several years can be shut out instantly and have their funds locked for months.
I cannot recommend Airwallex based on this experience.

SCAM! Beware. The disabled my account and still charge me $29 a month. There is no way to cancel my subscription, either.
.We worked with this company for 30 days, and they simply blocked our account without reason and froze our $10,000. They're not giving any answers or explanations, and the money won't be released. This is a complete scam; stay away. Never work with this company.

I am writing this review to warn other small business owners and freelancers about my experience with Airwallex.
However after just scanning some of these reviews the more RECENT ones it seems these crooks are repeat offenders!
I opened an account in good faith, hoping to use it for my international business transactions.
The entire process was pointless. My account was suspended almost immediately after I opened it. I had made a single, initial payment into the account and had even provided all the source of funds information they requested promptly.
Despite this compliance, my account was frozen without any explanation or justification. When I contacted support, I received no clear answer, only generic responses. It feels like my funds are being held hostage for no reason.
This complete lack of communication and what appears to be an arbitrary account suspension is unacceptable for a company operating in the financial sector. It has caused me significant stress and inconvenience.
I am now forced to file a formal complaint with the Financial Ombudsman to get my account reinstated and my money back. I would strongly advise anyone considering Airwallex to look elsewhere. The risk of having your business operations frozen without warning is far too high.

Unfortunately I have a bad experience at the moment with Airwallex. I made a transfer to Airwallex but in the wrong currency, which they can't accept. The money was sent back, but due to their complex "online banking structure" with multiple banks between Airwallex and the issuing bank, the money is now stuck somewhere and I have several thousand dollars since 2.5 months "somewhere".
Customer support keeps referring me to the issuing bank, but the issue is Airwallex's banking structure and that the money that Airwallex sent back has not come back.
They insist that they have instructed DBS to return the funds, but then there are several other banks also involved because Airwallex is virtual bank. My money seems to be in one of these other banks involved but Airwallex can't tell me where exactly the money is. They need to escalate and file a full SWIFT investigation but haven't done so in the 1.5 months that I am chasing them every other day.
UPDATE: after about 3 months, I have received my money back, because finally the customer service team took action. However I had to pay a SWIFT fee, even though the money was returned to me. I wish the customer service would have taken the necessary action sooner, I wasted so much time and energy just on getting my money back.
