For the price the quality is terrible and I am sure there are much better reliable products out there.

shockingly bad customer service and a product so complicated to use you need to be a technical genius. be prepared if you have a problem to receive unhelpful emails which appear to be standard cut and paste and if your headphones don't work, tough! they want video evidence of what you're doing and only then will they make any kind of decision. the only way to speak to anyone in the uk is to reach out to the US / Canada customer service site which has an online chat. total waste of money. totally unacceptable customer service. you'd be better served spending your money elsewhere.

Poor quality device, breaks under normal use
Initial sound quality is good... but the device is not sturdy or robust to withstand normal use. My first headset rattled within a year and was covered and replaced without issue by Aftershokz.... but the new one only lasted a short while too before it rattled and the sound quality went bad. I am gentle with my headphones and all personal effects; and with my 2nd pair I was especially careful with them. But it failed as well in a short time and the 2nd pair was not eligible for warrantee replacement. Aftershokz needs to solve this breaking issue. And by many comments I see all over the internet... I am not alone with this issue. Even the customer service rep at Aftershokz told me it is the most common reason for warrantee complaints. Why would I buy another? Why are they not addressing this quality issue? I am a quality manager at my mfg company, and this is a glaring issue that I would push my on my executive management team for a need for redesign/resolution if this many returns of my product was coming back to me. Until I learn that they they have resolved this with a design change I am looking to one of their competitors for my next purchase.
Disappointed with product quality and customer support
I’m disappointed with how my issue has been handled regarding my Shokz Aeropex headset. After only 3 years of use, the headset suddenly stopped working completely. While I understand it’s beyond the two-year warranty period, I expected better support for such a premium product.
The lack of repair options and the suggestion to simply buy a new headset feels neither customer-focused nor environmentally friendly. I had been a satisfied user up until now, but this experience has left me questioning the quality and longevity of the product, as well as the brand's commitment to its customers.
I again reached out to customer service on November 29 with my remarks and have not received any follow-up since then, which only adds to my disappointment. For a product in this price range, I expected better durability and a more proactive approach to customer concerns.
I hope this feedback encourages improvements in both product quality and after-sales support. It’s frustrating to feel like a loyal customer’s concerns are not valued. You have meanwhile lost another customer.
Great until warranty over then fall apart

Stopped working and the warranty expired. Mind you i had that one replaced a while ago under warranty because it stopped charging.
I received the new unit fairly quickly. It took me several hours to program the music I wanted on it. The first time I went to use was the 16th. The speaker on one side stopped working in less than 10 minutes. I called the customer service and they at first said to send them the defective unit back and then they would send me another one once they received the bad unit. I told them that didn’t work for me, that I needed the unit as soon as possible as swimming to the thoughts in your head makes the workout less fun and seems to take longer. It was not my fault and they did not need to cause unnecessary delays. I even told them they could charge my card again if they didn’t get it back. They then agreed to do cross shipping, once my package showed in transit they would ship the new unit. I sent mine to them on September 17th. So I call them on September 23rd as I have not received it. They then inform me that they received the old unit on the 19th and they never shipped a new one. (This was lie #1). They apologized and claimed they would send it out that day expedited shipping. Expedited to them means 3-5 business days, (AKA ground shipping) They refused to ship overnight even though they lied to me and never shipped it. I called again on September 27th to get a tracking number. I found out they again did not ship it. (Lie #2) .They told me again the same thing that they would send it expedited, I told him I didn’t believe a word they say and that was unacceptable. I would only accept overnight and a tracking number today. They said I would have to speak to a manager. After spending another 20-30 minutes waiting for manager the customer service representative returned and said no manager was available but one would return my call by the end of the day. Not surprised I never got a call back, (Lie #3) I called around 6PM and customer service said there were no managers there for the rest of the day. He claimed one would call me the next day September 28th. I I am writing this past midnight into September 29th, I have not received any calls. (This was lie #4)
I am done with them, I am disputing the transaction with my credit card and will get representation and sue them if I have to. I no longer want any of their products.m or ever have to deal with their incompetence again.
Aftershokz OPENMOVE no longer charging
Bought a pair of Openmove aftershokz June 7 2021 on Amazon. Maybe used them no more than 10 times. Put back in box as I wasn't wearing them much. Went to take them out for some summer running and they no longer will charge. Bought brand new charging cable aftershokz compatible with the model and tried multiple others and the things are just dead and will not charge. I plug them in to try and charge them as I don't like to give up and the occasional red light would come on then go off again. Left them plugged in over night and still no power to turn them on. It's a shame really as I hardly used them and forgot I had them, I wouldn't have minded if I got a good use out of them. I am looking at them now as I write this and the little red light comes on for an instant and goes off. Think it's time to put them back in the box and say farewell. Stick with my £10 skull headphones from TK Max that still work after 10 years.

Unrepairable?? Air shokz
I bought a pair of Air shokz but the rubber cover has come loose on one of the "bone conducting" parts, so I contacted the company asking if I could send them off for repair. I'm happy to pay for any repair. However Aftershokz replied (twice) saying that they DO NOT offer a repair service. So I'm stuck with a pair of headphones now, where water / sweat / damp can get inside the rubber covering and into the workings. I find the attitude of the company to be very poor and I certainly can't recommend them to anyone.
Poor product
Poor product, after using it like 1-2yrs, the battery seems failed to charge. This problem happened to two aftershokzs of mine.. not to purchase this product anymore.. it doesnt even deserve 1 star at all..
Rattled
Had the aeropex's which apart from the very annoying LOUD BLEEP every time you push one of the buttons - grr - they worked fine for a couple of years until the right speaker started rattling inside the case. Shortly after the left one started doing the same. And then a while later the volume contol cover just fell off and now cannot be used at all. Will not be replacing with another Shokz product.
3 of headsets purchased failed!
Purchased 4 Openrun headsets of which 3 have had a failed power button causing the headset not to function. When third headset failed one month after warranty expired the best Shokz could do is offer 10% discount on the purchase of another headset. Don't buy, very poor customer service.
Poor quality devices
In the last 3 years I had 3 Aftershokz Xtrainerz, but only the first one was bought officially by me, which only lasted about 6 months, as the right side of my headphones just stopped working.
The other 2 were a replacement within the warranty period due to this type of malfunction.
All the failures that I have experienced with these devices have occurred without an obvious explanation (not due to negligent use, or accidental dropping, etc.), they simply and suddenly stopped working, which leaves me perplexed by the quality of their products.
They are definitely expensive devices and sometimes don't even last the warranty period (2 years) as happened in my case more than once.
Considering the number of problems reported, I don't understand how it's possible that local economic authorities still allows the selling of these products.

Bought a pair of open runs for my partner at the end of the November for his birthday gift which unfortunately falls around Xmas. When he tried them on the head band was too big (the size of the back of someones head isnt a measurement most people would know!). I emailed to see if I could return and swap them for the smaller band but they told me a straight not as it was after the returns period. I now have a pair of headphones he cannot use. I thought in the run up to Xmas the returns period would be extended like it is most places but they were absolutely unwilling to assist. Definitely wouldn't purchase from them direct again.
AfterShokz Aeropex
Pros: A well presented, well packaged product. Good sound quality. Feels like a nice product.
Cons: Phone conversations in anywhere but the quietest of environments are impossible as the mic(s) pick-up all ambient sound. The first, of two headsets, I had developed a metallic rattle, and the company replaced it with a new headset under warranty. The second headset physically broke, where the ear-piece exits the battery casing and as they calculated the the warranty from date of initial purchase, and do not reset the warranty period when they replace a faulty product, the company didn't want to know. I asked to be put in touch with a supervisor, was told that one would be in touch - but have heard nothing since.
Conclusion: This is, in my opinion, a well marketed product, but of poor durability, with insufficient consideration given to how practical they might be in a real-world environment - for example, without noise cancelling microphones telephone calls are far from a good experience.
I'd be spending my money elsewhere
Don’t waste your money
Due to injuries hardly used. Just out of warranty stopped charging and volume button fell off. Contacted customer service. Who are not interested at all. Must be based internationally as replies were at 2am (GMT). I’ve wasted £150. Got some 30 quid ones off Amazon. They actually sound better!
Empty promises from customer service
Looked into other review from this site and my concerns were right.
As of late 2023, and probably also since the rebranding, they dont care for proper service. I did a few follow-ups, months apart, since the estimated wait time was supposed to be 2 weeks... And now I'm am not even getting a response.
I know how a broken product needs to be dispatched but they tried to make me throw my headphones away (I didnt) before I "received my new pair" which won't seem to happen (extremely shady).
The biggest promise I was given was that they would "send a follow-up request to their warehouse". I do not believe for a second that they intend to do anything. Disgusting practices. Refrain from buying their products.
