Scam scam scam.

I rented a car with Cargini. Ended up with this scam company at the airport in Sarajevo.

They wanted me to buy the full insurance. When I said no for the 4 time they then told me that my credit card didnt work. It works. I have been using it ever since I got to Sarajevo. They didnt want to give me the car because I didnt want the full insurance. They are total scammers.

I recently rented a car from ADD Car Rental and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience regarding their insurance policy and customer service.

Despite presenting a valid American insurance policy that explicitly covers rental vehicles internationally with coverage up to $75,000, ADD Car Rental refused to accept it. This policy is recognized by major rental agencies worldwide, and I’ve used it without issue in numerous other countries. However, ADD Car Rental insisted that I purchase their local insurance, adding unnecessary costs to my rental.

What made matters worse was the lack of transparency and accountability. I repeatedly asked for a legal justification or documentation explaining why my international insurance was not accepted. Instead of providing a clear answer or citing a specific law or regulation, their staff simply repeated the policy without explanation. I have since been going back and forth with them via email, and they continue to refuse to provide any legal basis for their actions.

This experience left me feeling taken advantage of, and it appears that the company is prioritizing profit over fair treatment of customers. It’s incredibly frustrating to deal with unclear policies, especially when traveling abroad where trust and professionalism matter most.

I cannot recommend ADD Car Rental based on this experience. Travelers should be aware of their rigid and opaque insurance practices before booking.

This is a fraudulent company. Charged me money for insurance I do not need and then charged me for deposit which was suppose to be returned. The deposit was never returned and they stopped picking their calls. Expedia could not help either. I rented in Marrakesh.

I rented a car for a week in Malta. From the beginning, the company’s policies were vague and ambiguous. The car I received was not the one advertised — it was a significantly lower-performing model. They also failed to provide a basic phone holder, which is essential for navigation, especially in a foreign country.

During the rental, I got fined for entering a temporarily closed road due to unclear signage. To process the fine, AddCar charged me a €35 “administration fee” — claiming it was because I had points deducted from my license, as if they were penalized themselves. Totally absurd.

This experience showed a lack of professionalism and zero customer care. Frankly, their approach relies more on petty tricks than on honest business. They seem to think being sneaky equals being smart — it doesn’t.

Avoid this company. Absolutely not recommended.

I had a good experience with AddCar. Reliable, fast, easy going. No issues.

If you want to get your vacation off to a bad start, rent a car from AddCar!
- The terms of the contract are not respected: €1,300 deposit instead of the €900 indicated in the con-tract; refusal to accept the document proving that "comprehensive" insurance had already been taken out and paid for at the time of rental.
- The rental company imposes its exorbitant and unprecedented conditions: a €1,300 deductible for minor problems, regardless of the cost of the repair, and an additional €1,300 deductible for major problems, with no guarantee of receiving an invoice to be reimbursed by the insurance already taken out.
- The result: we found ourselves obliged to take out THEIR insurance even despite the document proving that comprehensive insurance had already been paid for, which is almost €250 more!
- The car inspection is done using photos taken with a tablet, which must be signed on the spot, even though it's impossible to view them properly. The same goes for returning the vehicle. So, we're going in blind, with the risk of being blamed for scratches we didn't make. Of course, we took photos our-selves of the bodywork in direct sunlight, so there were too many reflections to see the details.
- And all this with extremely unpleasant staff, who speak broken English and are difficult to under-stand, becoming downright rude, even threatening if we don't accept their conditions.

Very bad experience in Marrakech…
Very bad experience in Marrakech airport. The car was rented through addCar (The economy car rental partner in Marrakech airport). They rented out car without rear mirror inside the car. The police stoped the car and issued a penalty notice not on me (as driver) but on the company (addCar). And police hold the vehicle property card till they (addCar) will pay fine. The addCar company hold my deposit 180 EUR and do not admit, that card in the car was not lost by me, but hold by local police. Also at the first night the rear lamp was broken. I really belive it is done by this addCar company. What they do is rent You out the car, offer You to obtain additional car insurance from them, if You do not obtain additinal insurance, they truck your vehicle, broke for example rear lamp, and charge Your deposit fully. So never ever choose this company as car renter!

The rental experience was ok, and the car was clean. However, with many damages on the outer part. When we returned the car, the representative claimed that he found a new damage that he is "not familiar with". Needless to say that there was nothing new, but we had to pay 200 euros for the so-called damage.

I had a terrible experience with AddCars, which I now believe is a fraudulent company. I rented a car through the VIPCars platform, which works with AddCars, for my trip to Bosnia and Herzegovina.When I booked the car, I was charged a deposit on my credit card. This wasn’t just a hold on my card but a real payment that took money from my available balance. I was told that the deposit would be refunded within 30 days after I returned the car.
However, it’s been way more than 30 days and I still haven’t received my refund. I’ve tried contacting their customer support many times through WhatsApp and their website, but they ignore me and have given me no answers. They never gave me any invoice, receipt, or proof of the charge.I am extremely angry and frustrated because I booked the car through VIPCars, and I was hoping that the platform would ensure a good service. But now, not only is AddCars scamming people, but VIPCars has also failed to help. They just keep passing the responsibility and didn’t take any action to resolve the issue.
AddCars is clearly stealing money from customers, and VIPCars has done nothing to fix the problem. They should both be held accountable for their unprofessional behavior.I strongly warn everyone not to use either AddCars or VIPCars. Both companies are part of this scam, and you will lose your money if you choose them.

Absolute scam. They don’t exist - didn’t pick us up from the airport, no telephone number and we had to pay loads on the day to book through another company.

Avoid in any cost!!!
1) it took more then an hour in the rain to be picked up in Sofia airport.
2) The offices are very far from airport.
2) Did not get/pass my credit card for the deposit. The only place in my week tour in Bulgeria. My Credit is more than 100K. My partner had to pay additional 200 Euros in her credit card for so called "full Insurance" in order to get the car. (suspected scam...)/

Rented from Bratislava. They hide the extras and are just shady to deal with . Then after hitting you with the fees they asked if we could return early so they could get it ready for someone else . I will stick to the proper companies in future .
If you are tempted by the price ,BEWARE it is not what you are going to pay . I am surprised the that Bookings.com offer this company on their site

We were to rent a car from them in Orlando. Made the call to be picked up the person was very hard to understand and the pickup was 30 minutes. We went to their location were taken into office ask for license and insurance and credit card all provided. We were told that our insurance deductible was to high ($1000.00)
and they only accepted $500 deductible, he said we could purchase their insurance for an Extra $28 per day. That's when we knew it was a scam. We were taken back to the airport and rented for another carrier, that went well.

Addcar was non existent when I arrived in St Martin after booking months in advance. Avoid that cheap price. Too good to be true.

Avoid them, driver was nasty, and he was the same customer service agent, rude as ever. They were late in picking up and would not accept my insurance although I checked in with my insurance before arrival. They are a scam, please avoid them. They refused to cancel but I called uber for my ride

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE:
I just came out of the airport (Tangiers, Morocco) and called the number provided by car jet! The guy at the other end informed me I was late (even though my flight was delayed and then I was delayed at passport control. I tried to inform the guy that I was delayed at passport control, but he hung up on me. Worst experience I’ve ever had. Avoid like the plague! Honestly, you’re better off walking than using Addcar who are meant to be representatives of Car Jet!

I had a frustrating experience with Addcar in Bucharest. They have an absurd policy requiring customers to wash the car before returning it—something I’ve never encountered with any other rental company. The nearest car wash is at a petrol station, where you have to pay at least LEI 5 for 2 minutes wash by ourselves but eventually need to pay LEI 10 just to get the job done properly. It’s a complete hassle, especially when returning a rental on a schedule.

A car rental company should include reasonable cleaning costs in their service, not make customers go through extra inconvenience. Definitely wouldn’t rent from them again.

I ordered the car on Madeira through addcar rental website. The actual car rental company was Prime Azores. I ordered a better insurance online and the deposit should have been 250euro. I have only paid a 15euro as a booking fee. When I arrived to pick up the car, they booked a wrong car for me, so I had to wait one day. Essentiallylost 1 day. The price per day was different and I had to pay the deposit of 1300euro.
And as you are left with a chance of not getting a car at all you go with the higher deposit.
The car was hastily wiped, but not fully washed and not filled with gas.
Avoid this company, completely arbitrary numbers online that don't correspond with the reality.

I read all the comments, everyone felt disappointed and scammed by the company, actually even I was in the same situation, a fraudulent company that makes you pay more money through many ways.
