UNHELPFUL ROBOTIC STAFF.
Possibly the most unhelpful company I have ever had to deal with. The staff that I had to deal with apart from Sophie (who was very polite ) are like robots. It seems when they speak to you that they are reading from a sheet of paper which they can’t deviate from..no personal or human touch.When they pass you from one person to another you have to go through all the same security questions again.surely the previous person would have cleared you.i was trying to deal with a matter on behalf of my wife who is unwell. I had already set up a password but still had to go through the same rigmarole every time. They sent a message to my wife’s phone with the wrong claim number details on I spoke with a supervisor Jamie who practically called me a liar showing complete disbelief in what I was telling him. I got a bit sharp with him and instead of trying to placate me he put the phone down on me. I offered to send a screenshot of the wrong information they had sent my wife and asked for an e mail address to send it to. Over a few more telephone conversations I was given 4 different e mail addresses for ACT credit..everyone bounced back as undeliverable. I left a message on their call back system..nobody bothered to call me back. The matter still remains unresolved with them although the healthcare insurance company shows the invoices as being paid. If I could give the people I had to deal with minus stars I definitely would.Both my wife and I are in our 80s..79 and 81 and I can’t put into words the amount of stress we have be caused by the inefficiency and incompetence of the people within this company whom it has been our misfortune to deal with.

Unprofessional & untrustworthy
ACT are incredibly unprofessional. They refuse to provide any context or evidence to verify the claim, instead request personal details (name, address, postcode, DOB). When I asked how I know it's not a scam as they had simply provided an internal reference, an amount & a bank account to pay into, their agent simply said 'look up ACT online'. When pressed to verify the authenticity of the claim, they became increasingly defensive.

I was always impressed with ACT BUT...........
I was always impressed with ACT and their professional approach to debt collection, BUT in July of this year they contacted me to say my debt had been repaid and there had been an overpayment and could I contact them for a refund. I sent my bank details by return, but over three months have passed and still no refund. After a telephone call I found out that they had continued to take payments for 7 months, and after a series of emails nobody told me why this had happened.
I have made a formal complaint on 23/09/25 and should have had a reply yesterday, but didn't.
All I want is my refund - plus interest - and an explaination why they continued to take payments. It seems to me that these companies have a licence to take money without a continuous proof of debt. How do I know they even passed my payments on? I have never received a statement of account.
24hrs have passed and I would like to add that ACT have contacted me with some positive and helpful news. Once my case is closed I hope to be able to give ACT a more accurate review. Thank you for your continued help, I think it is Opus Energy that is at fault - not ACT.

Automated emails with generic replies and no response from Karol, Admin or Sally, CEO when communicating with this ‘company’ acting on behalf of their client who has previously been supplied evidence that a package was created with a doctor who rents a room at their clients facilities, services that were agreed in advance with the doctor and my insurance company.
However said package was not setup as a SKU/product code in their clients billing system and are trying it on to chase a ‘debt’ because their client was inept to not add a custom package to their systems to take payment from my insurance with whom I have a zero excess policy!
I have emails and invoices of what was agreed in advance, what was billed included the package SKUs to happily show this in court and pursue damages on indemnity basis.
Only time will tell if it gets to court and how much of my time I will get back that this company is wasting on behalf of their client’ inability to pursue an insurance company and instead they are going after a zero excess policy service user.

Harassment, ignoring emails and communication. Balance paid to a electric supplier over 12 months ago, continue to chase for money even though they have confirmed there is no debt.

Fraud & Bullies
ACT Credit Management pursued me for a small debt that was under active dispute and, in my view, entirely unlawful.
Yet when I questioned what due diligence they had done and asked for evidence of the debt’s legitimacy, they never replied once to even acknowledge the email let alone provide answers to someone they are threatening legal action with — it’s now been over a month, still with no answer.
When I replied to one of their threatening text messages to ask for a reply to my email before they send any more threats..they say emails are a different department - no ownership or accountability anywhere.
In the end, I paid the amount under duress, purely to stop the harassment — not because I accepted the debt.
If I had the time & energy to take it to court, I don't expect a judge would look on their conduct well.
I have now submitted a formal complaint to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) for their failure to act in line with the FCA’s guidance around disputed debts and fair treatment of consumers.
If you’re in a similar position, I strongly recommend keeping all communication documented and reporting their conduct to the FCA and the Financial Ombudsman Service.

THIS IS FRAUD. They have been stalking me for 1 year for £100 pounds that became £170 from a company I have never heard of. This is a scam!!! Be careful. They also ask for personal information like your home address and are a complete waste of time. Do not engage with them ever. I will report them next time they call. BE CAREFUL IT IS FRAUD. Terribile service and experience! They don’t even deserve to be a company and certainly don’t deserve even 1 star.

Uninformed workers
They called me 3 times but never told me what the bill was for so I thought it was a scam. I told them, I'll pay as long as you can tell me what I owe because no one will part with 2k£ just because someone told them to move some money into an account of a company I'd never heard of. If you ask for money, be prepared to say what it is.
