Ableworld are the largest mobility retailer in the country and believe this is because we genuinely care about our customer’s well-being. We employ professional, caring and knowledgeable staff to work in our stores, and provide quality mobility aids at value for money prices.
We pride ourselves on being an ethical trader who will not pressure sell items and if we feel a product should have an assessment we will not sell these online, as we want to ensure our customers that they are getting the right product for their needs, not just the most expensive mobility aid.
Our stores stock all types of mobility aids, including Mobility Scooters, Walkers, Powerchairs, Bathing Aids and Stairlifts. You can be assured that in all of our stores we provide the same caring approach to looking after our customers, and the same range of quality mobility aids.

Went to Ableworld Salford yesterday to look for a scooter for my mum. Once again Matt was really helpful. We bought a scooter for my dad a few months ago and just cannot fault the knowledge and support of Matt throughout the process. He is patient with the elderly and explains everything so clearly. We are now the owners of two scooters from this company and are extremely happy with our purchases. The six month free insurance is another added bonus!! Thanks again Matt for your help. Wouldn’t shop anywhere else.

If you are looking for a mobility company that puts the customer first and will go out of their way to make the customer feel valued, then please do yourself a favour and stay away from Ableworld Salford branch. If however, you are looking for a company that will put every stumbling block they possibly can in your way when you have a defective product and ultimately the only way you have of ever getting your money back is through the small claims court, then go ahead and give Ableworld a try as I am sure you will not be disappointed.
Suffering from Lung Disease and Heart Disease I decided to purchase a brand new mobility scooter for the sum of £599 from Ableworld Salford. Unfortunately, within six months of purchasing the item, the scooter had broken down on multiple occasions leaving me stranded - even whilst crossing a busy main road - and despite Ableworld’s own engineers' multiple attempts to rectify the scooter, all to no avail, I eventually requested a refund as was my legal right under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Unfortunately, Ableworld Salford did not feel this particular piece of Government legislation applied to them, despite being told by their own recognised dispute resolution team, namely Which Trusted Traders, that it did and as such were in fact legally obligated to supply me with a refund. Therefore, the only avenue left open to me at this stage was to seek the assistance of the small claims court. It was at this stage Ableworld Salford decided to place even further stumbling blocks in my way by passing the matter over to Ableworld Head Office to deal with even though it later became apparent they knew that as a franchised company, Ableworld Head Office had in fact no legal obligation over the case and as such if the matter did in fact proceed to court, it would simply be dismissed by the Judge. As things progressed, it took the assistance of Which Trusted Traders along with Trading Standards plus ultimately two separate attempts at court mediation for Ableworld Salford to agree to a refund of a partial amount of the initial sum I paid for the scooter which after approximately 18 months of constant letter writing as well as dealings with the court system, I reluctantly accepted. The funny thing is, I had always assumed the phrase “ Caveat Emptor/Buyer Beware” only applied to purchasing second hand goods but it is now apparent to me that the phrase “Caveat Emptor/Buyer Beware” also applies to buying brand new goods - or at least it does in the case of Ableworld!

First I would like to apologise to Mike from the Salford store. He gave me his business card but unfortunately I misplaced it and couldn’t remember his name (dementia moment). Secondly, I would like to thank him for all his help and expertise in helping me (and my wife) in choosing a scooter for myself back in April, its just a shame he didn’t serve coffee because he put us at ease the moment we entered the store. I think we were there for about an hour just chatting, having purchased a scooter. Thank you.

Very good service from Salford Branch today. Stairlift stopped working and Sean was here very quickly to fit a new battery. Nice to see a company getting something right!

If I could give this company 0 star I would. My dad purchased a stairlift for 1500 and sadly passed away 2 weeks after. He only used it for a week as he was in hospital for a week. We phoned ableworld up to pick it back up and they offered us 300 quid!!! Absolutely no compassion and shocking considering it had been used a handful of times. We would rather see it threw in a skip than accept 300 quid for them to sell it on again for a grand

Have been a customer here for a number of years, always great service.
I recently bought a riser bed that was a special order. Ableworld was let down by the supplier at the last minute but Mike the store manager, went above and beyond not to let me down.
Fantastic customer service!

I arranged a home visit to try out the logistics of a mobility scooter. John and Lee visited. They were really friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. When I felt that the mobility scooter was not viable due to the issues with access they didn't put any pressure on me to make a decision. When I decided the scooter wasn't right for me, they offered an alternative as they had an electric wheelchair in the van that had not been suitable for the previous client but they thought might be a good solution for me. They brought it in for me to try and again didn't put any pressure on me but talked through the advantages of the chair. I felt really happy and confident and am very grateful for John and Lee's patience and good humour. They made me feel very comfortable and I can't praise them highly enough.
