I bought a car from Copart Auto Auction through A Better Bid and found out after the purchase that the title was branded “bonded”. Copart sells Insurance company owned cars that have been totaled and for people like me who own a body shop I can repair them and get them inspected by the State and get a “rebuilt” title. They are generally worth 60-75%% of a clean title car. I’ve bought and repaired about 10 over the years. The auction listing from A Better Bid didn’t mention anything about the title being bonded. What I found out was the car could only be rebuilt and sold in Alabama, the state the car was last registered in. Once I realized the issue I contacted Eve at A Better Bid and asked how they were going to help me out since I essentially had a car that was only worth scrap value to me in Florida. I have $8,000 invested in the car. After weeks of promises to get me some resolution they just quit responding saying they were looking into it over and over and over.
Their customer service to me was terrible! I would say look for other brokers other than A Better Bid if you plan on buying a salvage car from Copart or IAAI. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Reeealy confusing and chat didn't help. Thanks for the reviews. It's crazy how they prompt you to donate (for a good cause) but then they rape the little guy trying to save some money.

First of all, I had to put a $400 deposit. Say I was bidding $4000 and only wanted to put $3000. Then it wouldn’t let me bid at all. Didn’t know what they’d do about how to get my $400 back. Had to call to find out how. The way you guys handle your bidding site or whatever you wanna call it stupid. I never did get the bid on what I wanted to bid on.

I would rate my First experience using a broker and buying from a auction for the first and second time was a success, yes I didn't win certain bids I put time into but I was learning the ropes truthfully. I am a satisfied user and I will continue using this service so long as nothing changes . Delivery on the first car was beyond fast I got it the very next day. 2nd one I can't speak of as to I am awaiting it as I type this.

They are scammers. Stole $1249 from me. Can’t get an American on the phone. Now I’ve filed in small claims court.

Purchased a vehicle in which the misrepresented the title status, this was only weeks after receiving the car. Reached out to customer service to discuss and was not supported. Resulted in additional action needing to be taken. I was a repeat customer and over all enjoyed my experiences but this one takes the cake. I would avoid them at all cost!!!!

Using a middleman to buy from CoPart was obviously going to be a bad experience but somehow ABetterBid surprised me with just how bad they were.
I got to pay ABetterBid $933 on top of the $8700 bid/Copart fees for the services that included having to bid via email instead of a web interface, aggressive sales tactics including invoices I didn't agree to that included charges for their overpriced shipping company, not being allowed to pick up the vehicle myself despite CoPart being totally fine with that (So I have to pay an extra $300 for a tow service), and now a nearly 2 month delay on ownership documents where the only updates I've gotten are when I've reached out.
I still don't have any documents from them despite picking the vehicle up on December 19 and it's now February 4. Their FAQ indicated that I would "receive your ownership documents within 2–5 weeks." I emailed them after about 3 weeks and didn't get anything useful. I've followed up multiple times and just gotten delay tactics with missed update time lines.
I was planning on waiting until I had a resolution to the story before posting a review but at this point they're so impressively bad that I have to at least share something. I'm also curious to test out if they manage to cull bad reviews as there's no way they deserve the nearly 5 star rating they have. Just a quick skim of Reddit/other forums shows just how poor of an experience most people have with them.

This was a very good experience. They are a top line company and I would recommend anyone looking for a descent car to use them.

I'm glad I double checked reviews prior to giving these cons a dime. They force you to use their in house delivery on top of their outrageous broker fees (I suggest finding a smaller broker to save some $). They wanted to charge me $340 for shipping on a small sedan when I live 5 minutes from the lot. Ridiculous.

I have to admit I personally didn't read all the details entirely when the vehicle was purchased. A purchase agent handled the initial transaction. I now see the company does state 2 to 5 weeks for delivery and they are within their rights. I apologize to Abetterbid for the rating and hope I can give a higher rating if they honor the time limits.

The car was advertised as having minor damage, but that was completely false. I relied on their auction listing, their EPICVIN report, and their overpriced transport service, and every single one of them turned out to be misleading.
The vehicle delivered was a total junk, nothing like what was advertised. The VIN report they provided was useless and failed to show publicly available information about the car’s real condition.
To make matters worse, the transporter brought the car anyway—causing even more damage to the gear—and refused to communicate properly. I repeatedly asked for his phone number so he could describe the actual damage before delivery. He never provided it, and he was the only person who could have prevented this disaster.
Avoid this company at all costs.

They have so many fees that CoPart referred to as "predatory and unfair". Due to this is ballooned a $25k truck to $31.5 after all of their fees, which is absurd. Once cancelling the sale due to the high price not realizing it would be so much more, they proceeded to force me to remove my negative review, before they were willing to negotiate a refund. "Requiring the removal of a negative review as a condition for refunds or settlement offers can be considered a questionable or potentially unlawful practice under consumer protection standards." They then proceeded to steal over $3k of my money to allow me to forfeit the vehicle and in their negotiation became extremely derogatory. This is word for word from their email "We have reviewed your case with management and are prepared to offer you a refund of $2,000 from the $5,000 paid for the relist and cancellation fees, contingent upon the removal of the negative review on Trustpilot." In which it took over a month to even receive the refund.

I wish I had never chosen them. They force you to use their shipping. They do not provide you with the paid invoice from Copart or gate pass pin. Making you to send the insurance info for the vehicle for what? For trying to fool you down? Hahahaha. I’d pay a few $ more and choose Autobidmaster for example or maybe even consider to work with w8. Autobidmaster will ALLOW you to pick by yourself. It’s illegal to make you using the VERY hight transportation. Autobidmaster - a better price for shipping, w8 - a better price for shipping, mercury - a better price for shipping. For what I should choose a better bid? For trying to make money on me? The worst experience I have ever had. Rude customer support. Stay away. Just save your time and go with someone reliable. When you call them they say - it’s a rule we have and trying to make you an idiot. Dislike to listen, interrupt you and sigh. I am begging you to choose someone but these guys. I hope you see my point of you. They respond differently regarding the shipping to their customers. Why? Idk. They told me: you cannot choose your transporter but you can email us their insurance so we can look into it. But they lie. The do not fulfill their promise…

Oh God no, The worst vehicle buying experience of my life
I purchased a vehicle through A Better Bid and the entire experience has been extremely stressful. The truck I received was not as advertised and when I tried to follow their buyback/refund process, the company repeatedly refused to send the refund before pickup. I have documentation of dozens of emails asking for standard proof of payment (FedWire trace or IMAD number) before I release my property.
Instead, they continued to demand that I sign away my rights and release the vehicle first with no verified payment. I was told many conflicting things over several days, and the refund process kept changing.
At this point I have had to involve my state Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division for assistance because I could not get clear or consistent answers from their team.
This has been an exhausting process and I would strongly recommend anyone reading this to research very carefully before using this company.
Edit one: is this before or after Ms Eves response of
Hello!
The management reviewed your case once again. You can skip signing the agreement. However, the vehicle must be delivered to the location first and the yard must confirm the vehicle is received and is in the same condition. After having a confirmation, we can initiate wire transfer.

Thank you for your response. However, your own statement confirms that you are conditioning a refund on surrender of property before payment is issued or verified. That practice directly contradicts standard consumer protection and refund procedures required under U.S. commerce and contract law. This matter remains under active review with the Missouri Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division. Have a great day
Respectfully.
