Awful experience from day one
Of all my prop firm experiences, 4Proptrader was the worst by far! After registration I received an email with my login credentials. The password didn't work. I had to reset my password. First sign of unprofessionalism! When logged in, I only saw 18 out of 40 instruments listed in their FAQs; dxFeed. I wrote an email asking for help and asked a few more questions. I haven't received a reply yet, more than a week has past. Because it was crucial to me to trade commodities, I reached out via live chat. Turns out not all instruments are enabled. Quote: "Note that the CME market is the only market enabled by default. If you need to trade in any other markets, you can contact us anytime." Not even half of the instruments are enabled when you start and that isn't mentioned anywhere. That's just unprofessional and an unneccessary waste of time, to contact support for this! All symbols should be enabled from the beginning.
WEB TRADER
Trading experience via Web Trader wasn't great either. You can only trade from the chart. So if you have multiple open positions and you want to change your stop loss or profit target, you have to change the symbol in the chart to change the SL or TP lines. There is no table where you can see all of your open trades and change them from there. You have to switch your charts to modify from there.
You can undock your chart so that it opens in a new browser window. The software will remember it, which is good. So when you log out and log in again, the Web Trader will ask you, if you want to open that workspace, or when you just navigate through your dashboard and go back to Web Trader. But regardless of what you choose, "Open workspace" or "Cancel", it opens the workspace anyway! So the "Cancel" button doesn't even work. Just annoying.
THE CHALLENGE
I was doing good on my challenge, but I failed because of a rule, that isn't clarified enough. I had a PENDING ORDER after 3:15 p.m. Chicago Time, that wasn't even filled. But that pending order broke the rules, even though the FAQ only state: "It is prohibited to open any new positions between 3:15 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Chicago Time." The wording is "any new positions". I didn't even have an open position, it was a pending order, that COULD lead to a position, but it didn't! I placed it intentionally, so that when the market opens again at 5:00 p.m. I get filled if the price jumps. But instead I had to read the word "FAILED".
ACOUNT DELETION
Now that I'm finally done with 4Proptrader, I went to the settings menu and clicked "DELETE ACCOUNT", but the button doesn't even work !!! I had to contact support again and still waiting for an answer.
CONCLUSION
They can't even get the basics right, have terrible email support, don't provide the full amount of instruments/symbols by default – only when reaching out to their support –, they screw your challege by vague formulations in their FAQ and on top of all, they force you to bond with them by having a non-functional "DELETE ACCOUNT" button!!!
At least I only paid $35 on Black Friday, but even a single Cent is too much!
