Do not use this company

Do not use this company, emergency or not. Let me preface this by saying I'm a former building services engineer, so I know what to expect from a plumber, works involved for most jobs, and pricing expectations. I called them out for a simple external pipework fix and knew from the first minute that I was about to be conned. But I played along.

The job involved a very basic replacement of an external waste pipe and two connections. A job that would take a competent plumber no more than an hour.

The plumber that came out, Amir, bullshitted for about 30 minutes, telling me he wanted to rip up the concrete floor in my kitchen. When I said no, he said he'd need to slap a hole in my wall, and the ground. None of this was necessary, not in the slightest. He said it was a very difficult job and would take 'hours' to complete.

I was given a laughable price of £700 which I negotiated (for fun) down to £600, plus a £65 call-out fee.

The plumber, Amir, didn't want to go through the company and wanted cash. He said he'd come back the next day and off he went. I had no intention of using this cowboy.

I contacted him a couple of hours later to check his insurance details. He said he didn't have any insurance, neither professional indemnity or public liability. As he wanted cash in hand, there would be no connection to his 'company'. He claimed the 'company' had insurance but refused to provide proof, presumably because they either didn't have insurance, or he wanted to rip off his boss with the cash-in-hand job.

This gave me enough info to tell him his services were not required, which I already knew from the first minute he appeared.

This guy is a cowboy, a complete con-merchant, and I feel sorry for anyone who has been a victim of his sham services and pricing.

I have no idea if there is indeed a Limited Company behind this guy, I very much doubt it. They do not show ANY company information on their website.

PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, OR AMIR.

For the record, I had a plumber come out the next day and replace the pipework in an hour, including a trip to the supplier, and for a fraction of the price.
