Simply Awesome
Short version: 100% professional, helpful, friendly, efficient.
The facts: we have been members of the ÖAMTC since we moved to Austria in June 2019. In this time we have had three unlucky incidents. A blown out tyre and a dead battery on our Skoda and a coolant leak on our nearly new VW T6.1 California. On all three occasions the ÖAMTC have responded quickly and efficiently. A single button press on the ÖAMTC App on our Android phones has set in motion a chain of actions which have had us rescued and continuing our journey in the quickest possible time.
Last night we were stuck a long way from home when our van developed a major coolant leak. Within minutes an engineer was on the way to us, keeping us informed as he did so. He inspected our vehicle thoroughly and professionally and very clearly explained what had happened and what would happen next. As the issue proved to be a major one we were provided with a hotel room for the night and a taxi ride to the hotel. We found out today that the leak would require major works to fix and so the ÖAMTC arranged to transport the van to our nearest VW dealer and paid for a train ride home for us and a taxi to the station. The lovely Anita Antunovich on the other end of the line kept us updated and kindly spoke perfect, fluent and reassuring English to let us know what she had planned on our behalf and where and when we needed to be in order to get home.
Summary: Overall we reckon that our ÖAMTC membership is some of the best money we have ever spent. We trust them to help us out when things get difficult.
