Straight forward to purchase. Thankfully I haven't needed to make any claims but its good to know that I'm covered.
I have emailed several times to change the end date of my coverage and have not heard back from this company. This is disappointing. I would appreciate a return email and attention to the matter. Thanks

I had a hard time on the website. I wanted to know what each plan covered before picking one. This didn't happen until I picked a plan to buy. I might have gotten a better plan.

Complaint Regarding World Nomads Travel Insurance
I have used World Nomads in the past without any problems, which makes my recent experience particularly disappointing.
This time, I needed to extend my existing policy. For some reason, I was unable to access my policy through the account I had originally created. Once this issue was resolved, I attempted to extend my cover, only to discover that I had to contact World Nomads again to arrange this.
I was informed that my policy could be extended and that all I needed to do was pay the difference. However, despite numerous attempts, I was unable to complete the payment. I tried multiple Visa and Mastercard cards across different browsers, reset my cookies and ensured that pop-ups were enabled, but the website still would not process the transaction.
I contacted World Nomads to explain the problem and received the following response:
“Unfortunately, if you are unable to make payments online you will have to take out a separate policy to cover you for your extended days.”
In other words, despite the payment system on their own website not working, I was simply told to purchase a new policy. I asked whether I could pay over the phone or use an alternative payment method, but I was told this was not possible.
I then asked if World Nomads could provide me with a quote for a new policy covering the same period as the proposed extension. I was informed that they were unable to issue quotes and that everything had to be done through the website.
When I looked into purchasing a new policy, I discovered that it would cost significantly more than the price I had originally been quoted to extend my existing policy. On top of that, a new policy comes with a 72-hour (three-day) waiting period during which I would not be covered.
As a result, I was left in a situation where:
* World Nomads’ website would not process my payment.
* I was unable to extend my existing policy despite being told that an extension was possible.
* I was told that paying by phone or using another payment method was not an option.
* I could not obtain a quote for a replacement policy through customer service.
* I would have to pay significantly more for a new policy.
* I would also face a 72-hour waiting period without cover.
* World Nomads showed no willingness to honour the original price quoted for extending my existing policy.
I find this level of customer service extremely disappointing. I understand that technical problems can occur, but I would expect a company to make reasonable efforts to help its customers when its own website prevents them from completing a transaction. Instead, I was left to resolve the problem myself, with no practical assistance or reasonable alternative offered.
I have now taken out a policy with True Traveller because I felt so thoroughly let down by World Nomads’ apparent lack of willingness or ability to help when their own website failed.
Having used World Nomads previously without any issues, I am particularly disappointed by how this situation was handled. The problem was not that I was unwilling to pay; I made repeated attempts to do so. The problem was that their website would not accept my payment, and World Nomads failed to offer a reasonable solution.
I hope World Nomads takes this feedback seriously and reviews how it handles situations like this in the future. Customers should not be left facing higher costs and potential gaps in insurance cover because of a technical problem with the company’s own payment system

This is my second time taking this insurance based on recommendation by my friends. Personally I have not run into any issues that made me use it the insurance other than having peace of mind

Good coverage and price. I did find it hard to read what trip cancellation covered. I had to go through the manual pdf to find out.

I haven't gone on my trip.
You continue to send me promotional emails. I would unsubscribe but don’t want to miss important communications.

actually, my husband signed me up for this insurance and didn’t want to give a review because he feels discriminated as he is too old for your insurance. I am thankful that I have trip insurance

Signing up and getting insurance is easy. Making a claim is not.
The claims portal is seriously buggy and did not work for me. It simply would not submit my claim, no matter what I tried or how often I pressed submit. Also, there are very, very long phone wait times.
This combined with the 100 EUR excess (which I don't think is made clear in the policy documents at all) means I got negative benefit from my insurance. Overall I would have been much better off saving my money in case of medical expenses. I will not be using World Nomads again.

I’m sad that this company has decided to go with poorly set algorithms. I saw it’s changed hands. I used to feel confident in their insurance, but now it’s a bunch of automated wishy-washy communications which tell me that they are joining the legion of weasel insurance that isn’t worth paying for because they will find any excuse not to help you. I will change this review if proven wrong!
