On 11 July
On 11 July, I emailed requesting cancellation, a refund & cancellation of the direct debit. In that email I explained that son had not received any swimming instruction because he never entered the pool. Eventually, another member of staff replied confirming that:
"I have cancelled the lessons on the system and will put forward a refund request for you." Naturally, I believed my refund was being processed.
Contradictory and Misleading Information from Farnworth Baths regarding my refund.
I have been told:
That a refund request had been submitted.
That refunds take up to two weeks.
That refunds take 28 days. That they do not give refunds at all.
No response from Cath harris the manager been received. After 3 emails was sent.
My son never actually participated in either lesson. He did not receive swimming instruction because he never entered the water.
We remained for only a short period on each occasion while trying unsuccessfully to encourage him. Before enrolling him, I made it clear he had never been swimming before. Despite this, I feel little effort was made to reassure or support him, particularly during the second lesson when there were only a handful of children present. I also incurred additional expense purchasing swimming equipment and a swimming costume solely in an attempt to make the lessons work.
I appreciate that Farnworth Baths may have reserved a place for my son. However, I believe it is unreasonable to refuse any refund in circumstances where:
the lessons were cancelled immediately after the second unsuccessful attempt;
my son received no meaningful swimming instruction; cancellation was requested promptly;
I was eventually informed that refunds are not given, despite earlier being told one had been requested. I believe this level of communication is misleading and falls well below the standard consumers should reasonably expect.
Outcome Requested I ask Trading Standards to consider whether Farnworth Baths' handling of this matter complies with consumer protection legislation.
Unfair £20 parking penalty for genuine customers at EIS Sheffield
Our family uses Everyone Active regularly—my daughter takes ice skating lessons with you, and we recently visited the English Institute for Sport (EIS) Sheffield for an official basketball taster session.
As first-time visitors to this specific hall, we were unaware of the front-desk digital parking check-in requirement. Even though Everyone Active confirmed in writing that my daughter was a legitimate, invited participant in the session, management refused to use their client authority to cancel the Parkingeye ticket through their portal, leaving us with a £20 administrative fee.
Penalizing active, paying members over an honest oversight on a free customer site shows a complete lack of care for customer retention. Very disappointing service from a brand we routinely support.

Disgraceful Sauna for the Public
⁸I have not visited Coral reef Sauna for a while , what a let down recently on Sunday 19th July 2026 , on arrival the sauna had poor lighting bulbs out brokern in the Sauna, sat down felt pain straight in leg , the woodern seating was so badly brokern and splittered I had to inform staff of the dangers, who closed the top row off, secondly came out tried to use cold plung pool was informed sorry doing maninatance for 20 minutes after 2 hrs still closed off not available, went on to different Sauna in the same room , opened the door it felt like a school room no heat waste of time walked out , steam room has flight of stairs to use top level floor filthy, need flip flops or your feet are black hygenic none, so paying £21.00 for a Sauna which is a disgrace , as they now add the slides in on the cost with the Sauna so if you are over 55yrs good luck with the watershoots you'd being charged for that you don't even go near.
The best laughter is watching Coral staff walking round with clip boards ticking everthing of passed inspection and all is lovely, it certainly is not guys stay away and use Mainahead sports centre and Sauna,
£15 for 2 adults to swim for less…
£15 for 2 adults to swim for less than an one hour at Tudor Grange public swimming baths, Solihull.
Life guards emptied the main pool and left it empty at 10am - what is the sense in that (Tuesday 21st July 26)?
Limited lockers as they have brought in a system where you bring your own padlocks - but they aren't removing ones that have been left thereby blocking use by others. Staff have the majority of top large lockers permanently meaning older people have to either use small lockers or the ones on the ground.
Pool had lots of debris and hair in it. Hope the emptying was to give it a clean.

I am writing a review for Langley leisure centre
I previously contacted you regarding a refund for a booking I made for Birmingham; however, I have not received any response.
This lack of follow-up is very frustrating, and I am considering leaving a review on Trustpilot. I believe it is unfair that my refund has not been processed. I made the booking only 30 minutes before the session, and while on the way—after approximately 20 minutes—we realised the location was not actually in Birmingham.
I called immediately to request a refund and was informed that this could not be handled over the phone, and that I would need to submit an enquiry instead. Given that my details were taken over the phone, I do not understand why the refund could not be processed at that time.
I followed the advised process and submitted an enquiry, but only received a generic response and no further communication regarding the refund.
Very unhygienic Leisure center
Very unhygienic Leisure center. My son comes for swimming classes. The toilets are always dirty mostly no soaps in dispenser to wash hands. It always smells so bad even in the changing room area because of the dirty toilets. No maintenance at all I see dirty clothes on the floor etc.. Some swimming teachers are nice that is the only positive in that centre.

The website booking is ridiculouse
The website booking is ridiculouse, so amateurish, tried several times to book for my grandson at "pool in the park". Truely pathetic!
The Westminster lodge team are…simply the best
The Westminster lodge team are fantastic! From reception staff through to PT. I was made welcome from day one. Would highly recommend having a personal trainer, I had Ollie Loades, to give you confidence using the equipment and have a laugh with ! I’m 71 so it’s never too late. Aqua aerobics are my favourite great instructors and good choice in music too!
Segregated gyms
I have found over and over again that the most happy, friendly centres are those with no segregation. A women's only gym, for example, results in a male-centric gym. And there's more -
1) I have rarely ever seen a truly fit woman associating with a segregated gym.
2 ) For what reason do you spend money on a gym if it has no social cohesion ? Might as well exercise at home and save your money.!!

Abbey Fields Swimming Pool
The new swimming pool complex is excellent. Very clean, well laid out and the staff extremely welcoming. It's going to get busy during summer but the classes timetables are well spaced out. Let's just see if the people of Kenilworth who use it look after it for years to come!

Great classes and facilities.
The exercise classes are excellent and the teachers delivering them are professional, knowledgeable and understanding , and very skilled at guiding people of all abilities through the routines. There are plenty of classes to choose from.
The swimming facilities are excellent and the venue offers fantastic swimming .
The joy of swimming!
I joined Hungerford Leisure Centre to swim especially in this searing heat.
The pool and all the facilities are in excellent condition, plenty of changing cubicles with lockers for your valuables, hot showers and facilities for the ladies. I thoroughly enjoyed my lane swim with the trusty lifeguard on duty should anyone need help. The staff are young, fit and extremely helpful. I enjoyed a delicious ice cream from the vending machine after my swim. There are plenty of tables to sit at and chat and a large variety of swimming costumes and accessories for sale should you forget yours at home.
Great addition to Kenilworth
Great addition to Kenilworth. Brand new facility, lovely family pool in addition to the 25m pool. Have used it for lane swimming and public swimming. Cafe is great and it’s good you can use it even if not swimming.
No alternative to stop your annual membership for health reasons.
I have always got an annual membership as I have been used the sport centre quite a lot for many years. However last year I had a double heart by pass operation and a lot of other health issues and I couldn’t use the facilities. Then they very kindly stopped my membership and add more months at the end of my original one. I got a new annual membership this year too but unfortunately more health issues have arrived again. The waiting list of the NHS doesn’t help so I have been now since April unable to do any kind of exercise. The new arrangement for Everyone active is that if you have a monthly membership then you paid £5 to stop it for health issues up to 6 months but they don’t have anything in place if you pay the whole year. After waiting for two months for a written reply, they gave me an extra month “as a gesture of good will” but when complaining again, they just replied that they just helped me last year and that they just don’t do the offer for annual membership because we already save paying all at once. Once again it seems to be all about money.
