Plovdiv city toprentacar
Recently rented a nine year old Kangoo van in good used worn condition from Toprentacar Plovdiv. One wheel trim missing at the point of hire. That's ok.
I subsequently lost another one over the hire period.
I offered to buy and fit a replacement one , this offer was refused by toprentacar.
Instead they charged me a total of 160 Euro for the missing trim.
The cost of a new Renault part was 18 euro.
I've been a loyal customer for years but they refused to compromise .
Never again

We would like to clarify that we do not retain a customer's security deposit without reason. The temporary retention of a deposit is a standard procedure in situations where a vehicle requires additional inspection by our Fleet Department, including cases where damage is identified or suspected, or when a more detailed assessment is necessary to determine the nature and extent of any findings. This process is in place to ensure that every case is handled fairly, consistently, and based on objective evidence rather than assumptions.
Our Fleet Department conducts all inspections in accordance with established procedures before any final decision is made. If no chargeable damage or other issue is confirmed, the deposit is released in line with the terms of the rental agreement and the processing times of the relevant financial institution.
We also take the condition of our vehicles very seriously. Every vehicle undergoes regular maintenance and inspections, and any reported concerns are reviewed carefully. If a customer identifies an issue at the beginning of the rental, we encourage them to report it immediately so it can be documented and, where appropriate, resolved without delay.
We understand that waiting for the outcome of an inspection can be frustrating. However, these procedures are designed to protect both our customers and the company by ensuring that every case is assessed accurately and impartially.

Friendly Service and Painless Experience
The whole experience was easy and user-friendly from start to finish. The car (model and year) was as agreed and in good condition. The shuttle to/from the airport was about 10 minutes and the drivers were friendly and helping with the luggage. Overall, great service.

cargo space incorrect given by phone and on website
Hi,
i needed to move and for that i needed a car where i could put a lot of stuf but as specialy my 2 table blades that are both 1.60 x 90. on the website (and i called also for it) the cargo space should be 1.81x1.55x1.23 the only thing that is correct is the hight of 1.23 .
It doesn't matter where or how you measure it, it is not 1.81 and not 1.55 but 1.40 and on the smallesed part even 1.20
Because of this i have to drive an extra time from Burgas to Plovdiv to move my table blades.
there for i give 1 star
and never will use Toprent a car again.

The car was almost new (only 4500 kms), and perfect to avoid road bumps and holes in some bulgarian roads . The staff was friendly and the shuttle to and from the airport is really convenient.

Support your local. Shuttle bus took us from old T1 to the off-airport location in a couple of minutes. While the vehicle handover wasn't necessarily as swift as with some international competitors, it was professional nevertheless. We got a manual drive Citroen C3 aircross, mint condition, this years make. Vehicle worked perfectly. Return was semi-smooth too. Nothing to complain really and I'd gladly rent from TRAC again.

- I waited for 1 hour 30 minutes at…
- I waited for 1 hour 30 minutes at Sofia airport on 03 July. This was the first voucher i had.
- yesterday for the second voucher unused, I picked up the car in nessebar yesterday and it was very dirty. Sandy, dirty and banged up. Today on 02 august I dropped the car off in Sofia airport and even though I paid 20 euro to drop at the airport there was no clear instructions for drop off because the minivan does not fit inside the under ground parking. It took a long time to figure out what to do and after checking with that top rent a car counter (which was super busy) I finally managed to do it.
This year I notice your level of service has gone down! It is clear that top rent a car does not employ enough people for such a service. I suggest your managers reconsider this and improve.

Cheats trying to maximise funds
On the very first day of my rental, a tyre pressure warning light appeared on the dashboard. When I contacted customer service, I was advised to inflate the tyre using the tyre inflation kit provided in the vehicle. I did this, but the tyre continued to lose air.
I contacted them again and was then instructed to visit a local tyre service centre. I followed these instructions, which took time out of my holiday. The tyre centre found that the tyre had a puncture and required attention. The tyre man fixed the tyre and I paid out of pocket . When I returned the vehicle. I was still charged 150 euros for doing noting . They provided no explaination just collected the money for no reason.

When you contacted us regarding the deflated tire during your rental, we explained that the tire required replacement rather than a simple repair, as driving on a flat tire can cause severe internal side all damage, making it unsafe for further use.
To help resolve the situation as quickly as possible, we offered to send a mobile roadside assistance service to fit a spare tire on site. We also informed you that towing the vehicle to a repair shop was an available alternative, although it would involve higher costs. You chose to arrange the repair independently. As outlined in our rental terms, when customers choose to handle repairs themselves instead of using the assistance provided, they are responsible for any associated costs.
Following the return of the vehicle, our technical inspection confirmed that the tire had sustained irreparable damage caused by being driven while deflated and therefore required replacement.
In accordance with your Top Protection coverage, your liability for tire damage was limited to €120, plus the standard €30 administrative fee applicable to all damage claims. For this reason, a total of €150 was retained from your security deposit.
We understand that situations like this can be frustrating, but the charge was applied in line with the condition of the vehicle and the terms of the rental agreement. If you would like to discuss the matter further, our Customer Support team will be happy to assist you.

DO NOT use this company at all costs
I rented a car from this company, expecting that if something outside my control happened, I would be covered.
Unfortunately, the car was damaged overnight while legally parked outside my accommodation in a hit-and-run. As soon as I discovered the damage, I immediately contacted Top Rent, who instructed me to call 112. I followed their instructions exactly. 112 then instructed me to visit KAT (Traffic Police) to obtain the required documentation. I went to KAT, obtained the official document they issued for my case, and handed it to Top Rent when I returned the vehicle.
More than two weeks later, I received an email rejecting the document and demanding almost €1,000 for the damage. They stated that the document issued by KAT was not acceptable, despite the fact that I obtained it by following the instructions given by both Top Rent and the Bulgarian authorities.
As an international student, this has been extremely stressful. I did everything I was told to do, reported the incident immediately, cooperated fully, obtained the official documentation available to me, and still ended up with a large bill for damage caused by an unknown driver.
If a specific document is required for insurance purposes, customers should be clearly informed at the time of the incident and guided through the correct process. Instead, I was left to navigate the system myself, only to be told weeks later that the document I had been instructed to obtain was insufficient.
Based on what happened to me, I cannot recommend this company at all
