I’ve have been using so energy for around four years now and I can honestly say they are the best electric/gas suppliers I have used . The costs are fair and competitive and the customer service is outstanding. I highly recommend so energy!
Absolute frustration dealing with So Energy - look elsewhere! Some examples of why I think So Energy has provided the worst service:
Allowed my energy supply to be wrongly transferred, twice. Each time I contacted So Energy immediately to tell them to stop this - but each time So Energy let it happen. This led to months where my account was out of my control, payments cancelled, and invoicing/meter reading unreliable which took hours of my time to fix.
Overcharged me massively - after I agreed a monthly direct debit amount with So Energy (after they wrongly cancelling my existing direct debit!) So Energy immediately charged me 300% the agreed amount.
Allowed my address to be linked to the wrong supplier - despite telling me they've fixed this, So Energy did not. This led me to being stuck with So Energy unable to switch away until this is fixed. This has cost me time and money, particularly as...
So Energy are hundreds of pounds more expensive than competitors based on my current usage - so not only do you get messed around by So Energy, you pay out more for the privilege.
Good luck trying to speak to them when you want any of this to be fixed. My emails frequently receive no response, and if they do get a response it's many days later. Phone lines are unreliable. I typically have to call 3-5 times before I can be connected to an agent because of disconnects. Automated phone security always fails because it requires I enter a regular direct debit - my direct debit is variable so there isn't a regular amount to enter. I must have spent upwards of 10 hours on the phone with them over time just trying to sort out So Energy's mistakes.
You could try and complain to them - but again, good luck. The complaints I raised have been closed without resolution on multiple occasions, even without any communication. I've had to chase So Energy multiple times to get any responses.
To sum up - go elsewhere. There are hundreds of energy companies out there, many cheaper than So Energy. Why subject yourself to stress and annoyance.

I have been with SO energy for twelve months, I’ve had no issues whatsoever. I have just renewed for a further 12 months and it’s even cheaper and I’ve now adder a EV charger

I’ve been with SoEnergy for about 8 years. I periodically check out other providers and SoEnergy are always competitive if not always the cheapest. I stay with them because they are easy to communicate with and always responsive. This is important to me as so many companies have poor online communications.
I have just signed up to a 2 year fixed rate deal. I normally go for 1 year only but these have proved to offer good value so I am trusting So Energy with a 2 year commitment.

I had solar panels , batteries and a car charger installed through SO energy. The communication throughout the process was excellent and dates met as promised. The installers were great and the electrician was polite, thorough and tidy. He went above and beyond with his part of the process. I would highly recommend this company.
Had a battery install done through SoEnergy. Pleasant experience and very happy with the end product. 0% finance for 3 years and a price that was impossible to beat.
Watkins electrical, who fitted the batteries were a great set of lads who made sure everything was how I wanted.
