Fusion Academy - Los Gatos Reviews 

We only use Fusion for supplemental tutoring right now, so I can't speak to how it works as a full-time school. But my son's tutor is wonderful. He has truly made a connection with my son - who has ADHD and normally hates school - and teaches him with creativity and patience. It has made a real difference, not just academically but in my kid's confidence level. I only wish I'd called them sooner!

Our son has ADHD and struggles with anxiety, and we struggled to get the support he needed at the public high school he attended. After just 3-4 months at Fusion, we have seen his confidence increase, his grades are up, and he is eager to go to school again. He has connected well with his 1 on 1 teachers and is engaged in learning. He feels comfortable asking questions or sharing what is happening in his life with the staff at school. As parents, we've also had excellent communication and support from the staff, especially the HW Cafe Director, Director of Student Development, and Head of School. They care about our son's success and are ready to help. We are very glad we made the decision to come to Fusion Los Gatos!

The team at Fusion is thorough, readily available and genuinely caring of our child. They have an understanding of how to cater to the whole student, which is a true rarity for gifted students. Our son feels safe, supported and welcomed at Fusion. We feel at ease to know that adults at Fusion do not allow students to be socially isolated.

This summer I sent Michael to fusion to up his game in math and English. I am overwhelmed by his success. His confidence is much better and he said his math teacher was the best teacher he has ever had. If I had the means I would send him for his last 2 years of high school.

So far, our child has taken summer courses to “try out” Fusion to see if it would be a good fit for him for high school. As of the end of summer, we are very happy with his progress in the school and have decided to enroll him full time for his freshman year of high school. We have definitely seen an improvement in his schoolwork as well as his behaviors. We are excited to see how things progress as the new school year begins.

Administratively, there are things they could tighten up. Communication with both parents is not their strength. Billing isn’t totally clear until you’ve been through a few rounds.

My son, who has some organizational challenges and struggles in math, started high school virtually due to the COVID shut-down. It was an instant disaster. I immediately reached out to Fusion Academy in Los Gatos, where Assistant Director, Craig Lebovic, was able to find the perfect tutor for our son! Wyatt (the tutor) kept my son engaged and aware of what was going on in school virtually, and helped him through. We decided to have our son repeat Algebra over the summer to assure a firm understanding of content. He was matched with math teacher Becca Lee, who ensured a deep understanding of all algebraic concepts and it really shows this year! We are so grateful to Fusion Academy and will continue the relations throughout our son’s high school endeavors.

Fusion Academy Los Gatos was exactly what our son needed while he struggled through distanced learning at his regular school. The teachers were kind, engaging, accepting and empathetic toward our son and he thrived on that. Being at Fusion Academy for a semester allowed him to spend some time rebuilding himself and get back on track with a sense of calm and confidence. We are so very thankful to Fusion Academy for taking us in so quickly and accommodating our short term needs. Fusion Academy is a wonderful school that provides many great options for kids and families who need something more individualized. Thank you so much Fusion!

Our student had a very successful experience with a single subject - Spanish 3, which she took online during the Covid year. She enjoyed the class more than her remote learning at her high school because of the one on one format. She felt confident in the material and was able to stay on pace and complete all her work. She received credit and a good grade.
The course could have delivered more fluency. My student visited Costa Rica and did not feel confident in practicing her Spanish very much. Also some of the class time was used to watch videos, which I think is not the best use of instructional time. Overall it was a very good experience and if we had a reason to take an online class again - or a one on one in person class - we would definitely consider Fusion.

Fusion has been a life changing positive for our child. After many years of trying to work with schools where the approach consisted of asking us if we could persuade or force or child to be more like the rest of the students, Fusion has met our child where he is. They have masterfully guided him to enhance his many strengths and taught him work- arounds where he has had difficulties. We couldn’t be more pleased about Fusion’s education for our child. We only wish this model were available for elementary age kids.

We enrolled our soon to be senior in Fusions math class. The instructor was a perfect fit for our student. He proved to be a very motivating factor that we haven't seen in the public school setting. Not only did our student do well in class, she actually understood the process. Nothing, but good things to say about our case with Fusion Academy.

Fusion Academy worked with our child through a stressful period in life. Pandemic, trouble with parents and family, mental illness. The one-on-one teaching and tutoring and flexible program allowed keeping up with school in the midst of crisis. The teachers were encouraging and attempted to find a balance between allowing this student to slack off because life was too much to deal with and reaching academic potential. I would recommend speaking with Amy Bauer about your child’s situation and allow her and her team to help you find solutions.

Our child ultimately needed to go into residential therapy for awhile. Fusion is willing to work with our family after treatment if the student will return.
