Absolute scam artists!

Absolute scam artists!
This company does not respond if you want a refund for shoddy cakes that are squished up bundles of mess that do not resemble what you order. They tell you to send the cake back within 24 hrs, send them proof of return then when they get it they will refund full cost plus cover your postage but you never hear from them again!
I had to get a chargeback from my card company who they responded to but tried to get out of the chargeback only to back down and I finally got my money over a Month later! Scum!!

Very disappointing customer service

Very disappointing customer service – refund still outstanding after almost one month

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Caker Street.

I mistakenly ordered a large cake and, after realising my mistake, I contacted customer service and asked if the order could be changed. They agreed to make the change and confirmed that I would receive a refund for the difference.

Unfortunately, almost one month later, I am still waiting for the refund.

What makes this even more frustrating is the lack of customer service. I have sent emails but received no response. I have also called several times, only to be left waiting on hold. After numerous attempts, I finally managed to speak to the support team, only to be transferred and eventually directed to voicemail where I had to leave another message.

At this point, I am extremely dissatisfied. Mistakes can happen, and I completely understand that. However, once a company confirms that a refund will be issued, I expect it to be processed within a reasonable timeframe and for my enquiries to be handled professionally.

Nearly one month without receiving the promised refund, combined with unanswered emails and difficulty getting through to customer service, is simply unacceptable.

I hope Caker Street sees this review and takes action to resolve my outstanding refund and improve their customer service. Based on my experience, I would unfortunately not recommend them due to the way this issue has been handled.

Awful service

Awful service, customer service is none existent, ordered a 70th birthday cake for my mum, received a 60th birthday cake for a man called “Doug” . 17 calls no answer, Ignored all WhatsApp messages, ignored all voicemails, finally got through , promised refund twice, weeks gone by, still no refund, I have recorded phone calls, they don’t like fixing there problems, they tried sending a second cake well past the birthday, completely destroyed and not as advertised, complete joke, trust me, use another cake provider! I did , there’s arrived next day in perfect condition and as ordered.

Pretty good

Pretty good, looked great for the photos but would prefer to use a local baker where we can. We ordered a 12” square plain iced cake. The cake did not arrive on the specified day (luckily we left a few days in hand) and no tracking details were provided; luckily their WhatsApp chat was responsive to tell us where it had got to, but no updates had been given and no real explanation was given for why the delivery date was not attempted. DHL had been very careful with it and it was packed very well; some minor dents in the icing but I was impressed it travelled well. The fondant icing had bowed out considerably on two sides and it was impossible to square up properly despite pricking holes to release air bubbles. There seemed to be masses of buttercream compared to cake and while the fondant, buttercream and cake all seemed tasty individually, the excess buttercream made the whole thing difficult to cut (the icing slipped around while cutting so couldn’t cut neat portions) and as a result guests also found it quite difficult to eat! Some guests commented the fondant was ‘chewy’ but I thought it was fine.

Really great customer service.

Really great customer service.. saw an Arsenal cake online that I wanted for my son’s 13th bday. He is autistic and he will only eat Chocolate sponge without any buttercream inside. Made contact with cake street via they’re what’s app chat. Had a response straight away. Told the person ( unsure who I was speaking too) my requirements, of a chocolate sponge only cake. They said that’s fine, sent me a payment link and job done.. all within 5mins.. really happy with that, very accommodating

Terrible service

Terrible service, dismissive staff when I was chasing the cake delivery.
Finally when the cake arrived, its was badly damaged and didn’t look like the cake requested. For £130 cake the customer service after my complaint was appauling.
Ruined our birthday celebrations

Poor cake design

Ordered a cake for my nephew for his 18th milestone birthday. It was a clock cake and so I put in a request for show the time 10.35pm, the time when he was born. I also called to confirm the timing on the cake which was received.

Cake arrived showing 9.35pm which was very disappointing. Contacted the support team (twice) with a photo and received a poor excuse back. I won’t be using them again especially when the cake was not cheap!!

Incorrect product - Terrible customer service!

Unfortunately, no option for zero stars!

Ordered a personalised cake for a 70th birthday, but the cake that arrived did not match the one ordered - apparently, this is no fault of theirs!!!!

It took me over 3 weeks to get a response from somebody which came in the form of 'Thanks for your feedback'.

Eventually, I got offered 10% off my next order and the case was closed - I obviously won't be using that!

Extremely disappointed.

I had a very disappointing experience…

I had a very disappointing experience with Caker Street. The cake arrived squashed and was not in a condition I could use for my son’s 4th birthday party. While these things can happen, what made the experience much worse was having to spend over a month chasing my refund. The customer service process was slow and frustrating. I asked to speak to a manager and am still waiting! Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend them based on my experience.

Very disappointed

Very disappointed. Had a text conversation with Dennis and ordered a cake for a party in July. Cake arrived all smashed in the box, butterflies all broken and the cake writing had faded in colour when I complained via WhatsApp I didn't even get a courtesy response but Dennis was responsive when I was ordering and paying. Do not use. Waste of money. I paid approx £180 for a small cake. Terrible customer service. Shame I can't post photos of a smashed cake

Great quality cakes

Delivered on time, in great condition. The cakes were made really well and the quality was excellent. They tasted really good too! I’ve since ordered again for our next family bday.

Ordered a cake for my son’s 3rd…

Ordered a cake for my son’s 3rd birthday party which was due to be delivered on Saturday and arrived Monday afternoon. The cake arrived damaged. I have contacted the company 5x regarding processing the refund and I am still yet to receive this (3 weeks later). I will never use this company again

If I could give 0 stars I would

If I could give 0 stars I would! I have posted negative reviews already but it appears unfortunately people are still ordering from them due to their glossy images and WhatsApp communication. Please do not be fooled AVOID AVOID AVOID

I ordered a birthday cake this time last last year for my daughter’s 18th birthday event - it was supposed to be the centrepiece, a lovely touch to mark the occasion. It arrived squashed, smashed in places and bore no resemblance to the cake I ordered. There was no time to even go out and buy another!

I did eventually get a full refund but that doesn’t make up for not having a cake at all at a very special event. No compensation was offered!

To cap it all off I received a WhatsApp today reminding me that I have an occasion coming up and offering a 10% discount!! I replied saying that actually the least they can do after ruining my daughter’s 18th birthday event last year is to provide a free cake for this year! Surprise surprise no response!!

I urge you all to read the reviews and avoid this company.

Special day ruined

Ruined graduation day with a cake that arrived damaged and not fit for purpose. They need to use a better delivery service but then once they have your money you can’t get a refund or any help to your problem as they are not interested! Will never use again

I wish I had looked at the reviews…

I wish I had looked at the reviews before ordering. Unfortunately, someone else let us down - that's why I ordered from Caker Street. The cake was for my daughter’s 10th birthday, I sent a reference photo via WhatsApp.
Unfortunately, the cake did not meet my expectations. The sponge was not light and fluffy; it was quite heavy. The cake also looked slightly lopsided, with cracks around the base.
Sadly, I won’t be using Caker Street again. I contacted them via WhatsApp on Sunday 26 July and am still awaiting a response.
