I had a problem with this company charging me without my knowledge. I complained directly to the company and via Better Business Bureau. The company was immediately responsive and refunded my money a year after collecting it. It is not possible via the website to seek redress, so email support(at)shudder.com

The selection of movies and shows is fine. A lot of B horror films, which I knew going in. My issue is it is a SCAM! I cancelled my account twice and they continued to charge me. They do not send a confirmation email when you cancel so I couldn't prove it, but the second time I went through the process I took a picture of the screen that said I cancelled it. But they continued to charge me. I had to call customer service where they said "they don't usually issue refunds." I did get one month payment back, but it should have been more.

Great content, terrible app and even worse customer service. they continuously misplace the email address for my user account, instead continuing to save it as my years old graduate email despite MANY emails from me to their customer service where they claim its been switched over. Now I am locked out of my account and they are claiming my account is not under my email. I am done being a customer after joining at the start and carrying a yearly subscription for almost a decade.

Poor choice of selection. Did a 7 day trial, obviously had to add my debit card details. Then once I searched the whole app and didn't watch a single movie. I went to cancel and sure enough, the app was updating FOR DAYS! And couldn't cancel... Look if your into neo noir or side hustle horror it's a go.

They have quite literally tried to charge my card over 15 times after I attempted WAY MORE THAN ONCE to cancel my subscription and whole account in general. The movies are good, but they're incredibly money hungry. I'm pretty sure they're controlled by Satan or something at this point......Anyway, I had to block them on email and get a whole new card so they would stop charging me! Very recently, I somehow got an email from them....Again! 1000000000% do not recommend.

Very poor selection of movies, with many not even in English. Updates on average only one new movie a month.. multiple times the app locks you out, won’t let you back in until to change your password - then fails to send link to update.. keep charging with no access. It’s a joke, then when you want to cancel subscription they make it impossible. Stay away.

Very old customer due to reactivate service

I'm in Australia, recently playback will not work on ANY of the android apps on my devices. I have performed all the troubleshooting ideas, and still it won't work. Nothing has changed with my network. I emailed Shudder support with details that they asked for. They said "We're working on it" then nothing. All my other streaming services work perfectly. Still getting playback errors. And I'm paying for not having a service. I give it another day or so then I'm unsubscribing. Having researched it, this is not a new problem. Disgusted.

I gave Shudder a chance just to see what all the hype was about, and to be honest, I was really disappointed. Shudder's library of horror movies are very limited, and most horror movies that you can watch on Shudder, are already free to watch on Tubi instead. Shudder's monthly or yearly subscription isn't worth it. As a massive horror fan, I personally recommend Tubi over Shudder.

Honest review no bias. Most titles cannot be streamed outside of the US, not worth the haste of VPN. 98% of all the titles on the site are so bad that they can’t even be watched as joke or something along those lines. Just don’t bother save your money spend it on literally anything else.

First time creating account, then signed up for the 7 days free trial on the app. Right then I canceled the subscription after 3 mins since the movie I've wanted is not there. Shocked I was charged for $95 right away for 1 year subcription. Contacted customer service but they just said can't do anything. Disputed it with apple and got refunded. Don't fall for their scam!

I was a member for maybe 4 years. Always hoping the titles would get better but no. You get better horror films on Tubi and that's free. Shudder Australia's titles suck absolutely. It's been over a decade since I torrent things and now I'm going back purely because of my experience with shudder.

There are nothing but bad movies and movies on every other service. You would figure that if you pay for a service that specializes in horror movies, that there would be more than a million bad b movies that aren't even so bad they're good.

Their selection is just so poor.

There's a reason has such poor reviews. Save your money.

Well l order shudder on a 30 day free trial on 30 of may 25 ,june 7 they canceled my subscription because of denied payment .the free trial was 30 days not 8 days the money would have been there in 30 days but it won't be now because of this.o well it wasn't a very good movies channel anyway. Never again will l get an American movie channel .yes,one mishap runes it for all American channels

I have had shudder for a while but theirs not alot of good things to watch. Also need movies what are down as shudder are not realised on shudder at release date. Clown in a cornfield is shudder but not on shudder. Also desert fiends is a shudder movie from 2024 and is not on shudder in 2025. Why? The shudder trailers what look good are never on shudder app

They are just scammers. I even went to my bank to get it sorted, they did get it sorted out on my iPad, they wrote all the instructions on paper, just to make sure that it will work.
When I got home, frustrating to find ,that I was unable to log in. whatever password or email that was used message come up, that email or password, has been used.
so that is money wasted for a years subscription.
Support is full of Crap.

I quite like Shudder. I'm often in the mood for JUST horror movies and series. Not ALL their content is good, but other streaming services have THEIR duds too.
That all being said... Shudder NEEDS to add a Like button, so at least they're getting SOME feedback from their customers, so they can a) Thin out the amount of garbage content, and b) help them in their marketing to their customers, like recommending things each customer may like. Other streamers manage to do this quite successfully... so please Shudder LEARN FROM THEM! Up your game and at least add a Like button to your content!

Unwatchable, pile of w*nk. For multiple consecutive days on end, Shudder has failed to load my next episode beyond 12 seconds. In fact, the camera shot it freezes upon is utterly ingrained into my memory, with the drag artist Abhora staring eerily into my soul. I expect to see their gaze in my next blip of sleep paralysis. (Said lovingly, as my qualms are not with them.)
I initially purchased a subscription to Shudder to watch the Dragula catalogue, in chronological order. I made it to Titans, with some ongoing technical issues mind you, but nothing that made the content entirely inaccessible. I am on a brand-new laptop, I've cleared my cache and all browsing data. Yet all attempts are failing, and I'm irate as a result.
I love drag, I love this art form and particularly Dragula for its grit, and pillars of principle (Drag, Horror, Filth, Glamour). As much as I'd like to endorse the series, I will now have to pirate it. To anybody contemplating a possible Shudder subscription, I implore you to fish on the web for a freebie. Any alternate option. Its streaming is a hot pile of sh*t.
