I contacted The Property Buying Company a few months ago via their online enquiry form to get a cash offer on my house. Shortly after submitting my details, I received a call from a very friendly man named Joe Mercer. Joe and I had a brief chat about my property where he asked me a few additional questions, after which he went away to get my cash offer. It wasn't long again before he called back to present me a very fair instant cash offer, which worked out at 80% of my home's current market value. From there, I set about viewing a number of properties, hoping to find the right one for me. Each month, Joe would give me a call to check on my progress and was always happy to answer the very many questions I usually had for him - he couldn't have been more helpful and friendly in each call. I ultimately decided on a different route for moving house and no longer wanted to take the cash offer, but my experience throughout was incredibly positive. Thank you Joe for all your help 🙂.

TPBC made an offer on my property, which was 80% of an already low market valuation, but I decided to accept and signed a contract with them on 9th September for a completion date of 9th October. I asked the agent why we couldn't complete in 7 days, as the advert in front of me showed you would get 80% in only 7 days. He told me that they could complete in 7 days but would offer a lot less than 80% and the process normally takes 4-6 weeks. Their website shows 1-3 weeks so their adverts lie. Over the last month I have had virtually no contact with them and had to phone them this week as we were due to complete today. Yesterday I was told that they had done research and the finance director was not prepared to proceed as my property is unique and they could not compare it to anything else. I was told that if it was a terraced house in Birmingham it would have been ok! They knew the nature of the property when they made the offer a month ago. This is disgusting. They have wasted a month of my time and I am now going into winter, having to start the whole selling process again, heating an empty property, paying council tax and standing charges. This is sharp practice. They should do research before making an offer. They are a company, I am an individual who is devastated by what they have done.

Grant was very patient and clear regarding what your company could offer. Our house had been on the market for a while and was not shifting so Grant was able to offer a solution for us. However, we had a sudden rush of viewings and accepted an offer just below our asking price. We have now had our offer accepted on a property in Lincolnshire and hope to be there for Christmas. All good so far. Yet to receive offer but polite people who answer your questions clearly and got back in touch when they said they would.

We gave this company 5* so that the likelihood that you would read about our experience. First impression was an honest straightforward company. But as you go through their system, getting dragged in by the first names, signing contracts and being told no "on site valuation" was not needed. Only to find two days before agreed exchange a surveyor will need to visit the house to revalue the property. Initial offer was 80%. After the survey the offer dropped to around 65% of Estate Agents, Zoopla and Rightmove's valuation. This left us out of pocket by over£2k. No response to our letter of complaint was received from the TPBC. We suggest looking at the 1* would be a more realistic account on how this company acts.

I would sincerely recommend The Property Buying Company to anyone looking to sell. Having never used an on-line agent previous I was very sceptical however any fears were soon dispelled as soon as we started talking and getting the ball rolling. Alice who oversaw the sale was exemplary, totally professional but friendly at the same time and an offer soon came in and from offer to completion took 6 weeks and at the price that we wanted. It really was a seamless and hassle free experience for what can be one of the most stressful transactions that you can ever undertake but for us it was entirely stress free. So a huge thank you to Alice and team and please give them a call you won't regret it!

It was a pleasant talking to Yash with regard to the valuation for our property, unfortunately it wasn't
enough for our needs.

Recently tried selling with this company and was wildly over sold what they thought I would be able to get for my property and more importantly the time frame they would be able to sell it in... DO NOT believe their sales pitch

Didn't use the service in the end as the property sold via an estate agent in their last last weeks of contract, but the advice we received from Yash was honest and very helpful.
