While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

RedactBox is a purpose-built email redaction platform that makes Subject Access Requests (SARs and DSARs) faster, simpler, and less stressful — especially for schools, trusts, and education providers. Anyone who's handled a DSAR knows the pain. Exporting mailboxes from Google Vault or Microsoft Purview is just the start. After that, you're juggling clunky tools, scanning hundreds of emails, blacking out third-party data in PDFs, and hoping nothing slips through. RedactBox brings the whole workflow into one place. Upload your MBOX or PST export, preview emails in a clean, familiar interface, and redact sensitive information directly on the page with a single highlight. Hover to undo, redact as much or as little as you need, and export a properly-redacted PDF ready to send to the requester. Built with education in mind, RedactBox understands the realities of SAR and DSAR work in schools: limited admin time, strict GDPR obligations, and the need to protect third-party data without losing a week per request. Whether you're a DPO, a school business manager, or a trust-level admin, the workflow is designed to fit how you actually work. No AI guesswork, no false promises of full automation — just fast, reliable manual redaction tools that keep you in control. If you're tired of stitching together Word, Adobe, and screenshots to get a DSAR over the line, give RedactBox a try and see how much time you get back.

A great product that makes redacting large numbers of emails very simple

We are a small charity with very few staff recently received a DSAR from an employee. There were a very large number of emails and other data to be analysed and redacted. RedactBox made the task extraordinarily simple. It is thoughtfully designed and easy to use. Furthermore, after an initial hiccup, please support was absolutely excellent.
It is a small company and a new product so there are occasional glitches, but nothing critical.
Highly recommended and excellent value
