This clinic is terrible - focus is money, not patients!

This clinic is all about the cash-grab unfortunately, not about medical professionalism or abiding to the hippocratic oath. We desperately need a repeat prescription for beta blockers for a heart condition as the NHS app for repeat prescription has let us down again (we ordered in plenty of time, but the pharmacy confirmed they had not received the repeat prescription we submitted, again!). Being let down again by the NHS, how difficult can it be to get a repeat prescription for a commonly prescribed medication such as beta blocker. However, my partner literally cannot breathe without them and says he feels like he's drowning, gasping desperately for breath. We had no choice but to turn to a private GP health clinic for an urgent appointment (this clinic was recommended by our local GP in case this happened). We can't really afford to go for a private appointment, but my partner can't really afford not to breathe and we need 3-4 days cover for beta blockers until the useless NHS approve the second prescription we've now submitted via their useless app. I turned to this clinic for help but was told they need us to get a summary of my partner's condition from our local GP before the visit (which is not possible given the time constraints, it is impossible to even get an appt even when we have time to allow). But like seriously? We're not asking for a highly specialised diagnosis which you can imagine would may need some form of MDT discussion with other hospital depts. It's a routine prescription that anybody with GP skills can prescribe. My Specialist GP Marlow invited us to pay £165 for a private visit but stated they wouldn't necessarily provide a private repeat prescription after the visit (even though this is all relatively straightforward). Why not? Do you NOT have properly qualified doctors working for you? Are you NOT aware of the hippocratic oath you are supposed to have sworn to? When a patient is standing in front of the doctor, assuming the doctor is appropriately qualified and even more importantly, also capable as a doctor, then why on earth would you not prescribe life saving medication? Are you not a proper and professional organisation? All this clinic wanted was to do was take the £165 for a visit at which it sounded like they had little intention of doing anything to actually take the patient and their needs into consideration. Being let down by the NHS, by 111 and now by My Specialist GP we have no choice but to go to A&E in order to ensure we can get an emergency prescription. When A&E ask us why we've had not choice but to waste their time for a repeat prescription we will tell them the background AND how My Specialist GP in Marlow would not help us! Shame on you.

Excellent

MSGP has been helping me manage multiple complex conditions for over 3 years now, and I have come to know the practice very well.

In a nutshell, the care I have received is beyond good, it's been excellent. The practice is extremely well run, with a genuinely personal approach, and I would recommend it wholeheartedly.

Whether you contact them by telephone, or walk in, you are greeted by a warm, welcoming and genuinely helpful receptionist. The waiting area is very comfortable and the general atmosphere is calm and relaxed.

In my experience, appointments are usually available same or next day.

The Doctors are first rate and, between them, they offer a wide range of specialities, expertise and experience. They are very personable and attentive, and appointments are long enough to give you plenty of time to discuss your concerns or health issues without feeling rushed.

Communication is excellent across the board - everything is explained very clearly by the doctors and the highly efficient administration team ensure that any prescriptions, referrals or follow-up actions are dealt with in a timely manner.

The practice offers a comprehensive range of health services and numerous health screening options, reflecting the importance it places on preventative care.

I visited the clinic today to visit Dr…

I visited the clinic today to visit Dr Clare Ashby as she specialised in MCAS. After previously seeing a different doctor elsewhere for this condition, I extremely satisfied with Dr Ashbys knowledge, manner, and her clear level of care. When you are struggling with illnesses, I believe an important part of healing is feeling supported. It’s safe to say, I have complete confidence in Dr Ashby and will recommend her to others I know with the same condition.

The only thing I would say about this clinic is my prescription was 1/3 cheaper from going to a ‘normal’ chemist. So it could be worth taking any private prescriptions elsewhere.

Patient health versus money?

I cannot help but feel that this clinic id more about money than professional medical help. They have emailed clients offering hay fever vaccinations for £145 (more than central London)They state that if the patient is not suitable for this they will still have to pay £115 for attending. In London it is stated those who are not suitable to avoid incurring costs such as diabetes, epilepsy, blood pressure etc etc.Why can’t they?

The reason I paid to see a GP privately…speed of appointment for an eye problem

The reason I paid to see a GP privately was because it is difficult to get an appointment at own GP.
I saw Dr Ford who, unfortunately gave the incorrect diagnosis on my eye condition. I could have done some self help had it been correct. I understand GPs cannot know everything and he referred me to a consultant. The referral letter cost me and the letter had the wrong eye! Luckily it is obvious which eye is most affected. I will reconsider my choices in future.

Agonising coil insertion

I had a coil inserted at the clinic. I repeatedly asked for pain relief and was denied this. I didn’t scream when I gave birth but I did scream during this procedure. I was told it was difficult to insert it. Afterwards I was in a lot of pain and I bled for five days and felt emotionally shaky. Wish I’d spoken to my friends who had had the coil inserted on the nhs. They were given lignacane pain relief.

Not the level of service I paid for

Great consultation with the doctor but……One of the reasons you pay for a private a GP is to get things dealt with more quickly than you can through the NHS. As far as test results are concerned (blood and/or saliva) this GP Practice simply cannot deliver that speed as they send samples abroad to be tested and they tell you (after tests have been taken) results take 4 weeks. The further problem is they are hopelessly inefficient at getting results to you even if you chase them up. I’ve had tests carried out twice in the last 6 months and both times the wait times for results have been completely unacceptable (2 months last time) only to find the results had been sitting at the surgery for almost 4 weeks and I’d emailed and rung for them every week.

My experience was disappointing

My experience was disappointing. After initial consultation, the Doctor asked to see my recent blood teats done by NHS, which I sent as soon as I received them and within a few days of seeing him. I received no further contact despite a number of emails and phone calls, where I was told that I would be called back the next day and given some answers. I was never contacted and still haven't been and my appointment was April 30th so over 6 weeks ago.
I was told that they would be reviewing my case as a group, last week but still have had no follow up.
