Not sure we'll working together anytime soon

Had the building contractor take on a refurb project and all I can say is that he decided that the job was done because he decided it wasn't worth his while anymore (even though the end state of the job left a lot to be desired and there was no commercial default on my side as a client).
My advice to any one that takes them on: make sure you have the scope of work properly documented and be ready to deal with a builder who can be temperamental.
