Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 156 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many people expressed dissatisfaction with the company's claims, often finding them to be questionable or lacking clear justification, such as alleged parking violations despite proof of payment. Customers frequently reported issues with payment demands for services not rendered or for fines that were disputed, leading to frustration and a sense of being unfairly targeted. Additionally, many found it impossible to communicate with the company, citing unanswered emails and unreturned phone calls. Though some people found the staff helpful and courteous, a significant number of reviewers described the staff as rude, unprofessional, and unresponsive. There were also concerns about the overall service, with some experiencing persistent communication that customers found aggressive or intimidating, and others feeling that the company's processes were automated and perceived as overly aggressive rather than helpful in resolving issues fairly.

Inflated claims, no evidence, and disregard for fair process

If you’ve received a claim from DCB Legal: File a complaint with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA)
You can also contact the Legal Ombudsman (after raising a formal complaint directly with DCB Legal): DCB Legal’s behaviour reflects a serious disregard for legal ethics and procedural fairness. They appear to rely on pressure and default judgments rather than evidence or the merits of their claims. This firm should be investigated, and I hope others will speak out and hold them accountable.
I’m shocked at the conduct of DCB Legal Ltd, who pursued a County Court claim against me on behalf of Euro Car Parks nearly four years after the alleged parking incident, with no prior notice, PCN, or opportunity to appeal. I was never contacted until a court claim dropped through my letterbox.
They included inflated and unlawful charges like a £70 “debt recovery” fee and £50 “legal representative’s fee” – both of which are not recoverable in small claims court, as made clear in multiple County Court rulings like Excel v Wilkinson (2020). They also added 8% interest after years of silence, with no justification for the delay.
Worse still, after filing a full Defence, they completely ignored it, provided no evidence, and refused to engage in mediation. This appears to be a pattern of bulk-litigation abuse, targeting vulnerable people and litigants-in-person who don’t know their rights.

Never reply to appeals. Irksome.

Had parking fine for parking on a zone where there was no maximum waiting time listed on the sign. Made approximately 5 appeals to the company but not received a reply to any of them. Now they’re saying I haven’t responded or appealed and after 7 threatening letters have issued me with court proceedings. One of my appeals was sent in by written letter and posted “signed for” and i have proof it was delivered as it was signed by one of their staff. They still deny I’ve contacted them. I thought theft and fraud were criminal offences, so how come this company are allowed to trade ??

Negotiate

I received notification of a parking fine from DCB Legal following losing an parking fine appeal. I paid for my ticket at a NCP care park but I did not input the correct registration for the vehicle which apparently was a violation. I was still issued with a ticket.
I had the option to pay a £20 fine, instead of appealing but I chose the latter option to no avail.
A few months later I started to receive correspondence from DCB Legal, stating I owed them £170 and they threatened legal action if I did not pay. This continued for over one year, I then wrote to them offering a non negotiable for £50, I stated I intended to appeal any court fine. They wrote to me accepting my offer. I am not sure if I should have offered a lower amount or even called their bluff, to see if they were prepared to take me a small claims court.
I looked at online comments and a lot of people end up paying the whole fine, as they appear to be intimated by the threat of court action.

I received a parking fine for 2 days…

I received a parking fine for 2 days from 5 years ago from where I worked, I worked for an agency and they did not give me a permit. The fine was for £340 and I agreed on £85 for 4 months. I’m paying that and today I’ve got another parking fine for £340 for 2 days parking the same week 5 years ago, they are a really bad company who do not care about you . They do not listen to you and just ask how you paying. This company really needs shutting down.

I would give -10 to this useless…

I would give -10 to this useless company that tries to make money off vulnerable people by issuing them with scam parking tickets. Got a parking fine for parking in a place I was allowed to park in. Dodos. Anyway after getting their directions questionnaire they decided to drop the case and bottled it. They wanted to fine me over £400 for parking illegally when in fact I was legally allowed to park there.

It's a numbers game to them. They don't expect anyone to fight back or go to court. Court costs are expensive especially when they have totally messed up

Absolutely appalling experience

Absolutely appalling experience. I received a court claim from DCB Legal on behalf of Euro Car Parks for a parking charge. The "offence"? I made a single-digit typo when entering my car registration into the payment machine, despite having paid the full, correct fee for my stay. I have proof of payment and that the parking company lost no money whatsoever.

I tried to resolve this simple "fat finger" error directly with Euro Car Parks twice, but was completely ignored with generic, automated replies.

Instead of applying an ounce of common sense, DCB Legal then proceeded to issue a court claim for nearly £300. Their process feels entirely automated and designed to intimidate people into paying up, regardless of the facts or fairness of the situation. They have pursued a claim where there is no debt and no loss, causing unnecessary stress and wasting everyone's time, including the court's. A truly shocking and predatory business practice.

If I could give 0 stars I would have

If I could give 0 stars I would have. I went to the local shopping centre where I have been going for years without ever receiving a fine. I always paid my ticket. Middleton shopping centre decided to change to vehicle recognition parking, but when you parked you had to make sure you knew what time you came into the car park. I paid for a one hour ticket and thought nothing of it until I received a parking fine of 60 pounds. By this time there were lots of complaints about people receiving 60 parking fines, including my husband and brother in law.
People started to complain and even went to the papers. The management at the shopping centre then decided to get rid of this parking system and offer free parking for 5 hours. I didn't pay the fine, to be honest I didnt know what I had done. Now 2 years on I am receiving text messages and threatening letters from DCB legal. I am now being dragged through the County courts. I don't have any proof of payment and I am so stressed and anxious I have had to arrange instalments. These people are evil I don't know how they sleep at night.

I had to put one star but really they…

I had to put one star but really they deserve nothing.
They have hounded me since 2021. For a £20.00 admin fee which I refused to pay. Because I had purchased a ticket but didnt complete my reg number. I have been sent countless letters been to the court mediation, recently had a date for the case to be heard in August where they claimed the charge was now over £300. Recently I have had over nine phone calls and emails from them advising me the client would consider settling out of court. They didnt like it when I asked how much compensation for my time they were going to offer me. Waiting for my big day in court where i wanted to make public what a vile, evil, nasty intimidating company they are. I get a letter today saying that their client had dropped the case. Their client didnt, that so called debt was sold to these scammers years ago. They hound and intimate people until they give in and pay. It was relentless the
letters, phone calls, threats. I intend to take this further and campaign against the way they intimidate, and their scaremungering tactics.

Crooks who prey on the vulnerable

If only I could use expletives to describe this company!

Apparently I missed the curfew for paying in their car park (even though I paid) and so a £1 parking fee turned into a £270 fine and 12 months of DCB Legal literally harassing me.

I have never ever known such a crooked, low life company as this, who seem to have have all the time in the world to exploit people, intimidate people with unlawful bailiff letters, and apply for County Court Judgements....but can't respond or acknowledge a single one of the 20+ emails I sent them.

Genuinely feels like it is in their staffs' contract to ignore emails and calls!!

A disgusting organisation

A disgusting organisation. I disputed a parking charge from back in 2019 and had the supposed debt sold on to several companies and dealt with an unending stream of letters . Almost FIVE years later Direct Collection Bailiffs started to harass me again followed by DCB Legal. According to Companies House, both companies have two directors in common, Mr Darren John Connor and Gary Robinson. I was all ready to get my solicitor to issue a Cease and Desist letter to them when finally, I got a claim through the court which I am now defending.
While the incident (which has now gone on for almost six years) was in its early years, as a public servant, I was working all hours, including through the night, calling China, the USA, etc. to try and secure PPE for our frontline NHS staff during the pandemic.......What were Mr Connor and Mr Robinson doing for the betterment of our society during this time?
Very low-calibre 'human beings'!

DCB Legal issued me with a parking fine…

DCB Legal issued me with a parking fine for not being in the parking bay which i was borderline Due to having a large car. I couldn't appeal the to the 2nd stage as the PCN number provided was INVALID i emailed and called several times about this but kept pushing for payment. Mediation Failed at £149.00 so we went to court today within 10 minutes the case was dismissed and DCB Legal have to pay £95.00 in loss of earnings within 14 days. This is the most you can claim. If you have a strong case go to court
