Absolutely amazing, from start to finish. The admin team, examiner, tutors everyone are professionals, the whole process was easy. The biology exam was hard I thought I will never pass but then today when I saw grade 6 achieved I was just overwhelmed, first time I’m just so grateful to everyone who helped me!!!!

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Chrisom for the excellent support and guidance she provided throughout my Maths Equivalency registration process.
Chrisom was professional, patient, and extremely helpful from the very beginning. She took the time to explain each step clearly, guided me through the registration and payment process, and ensured that I understood all the requirements. Her calm, friendly, and supportive approach made the entire experience much easier and less stressful.
What stood out most was her excellent communication, competence, and genuine willingness to help. She was approachable, attentive, and professional throughout, making me feel supported and confident at every stage.
Chrisom is a wonderful example of excellent customer service. Her dedication and positive attitude are truly commendable, and I am very grateful for the assistance she provided. She is absolutely brilliant, and I believe her professionalism and commitment deserve to be recognised.

Never review places usually but quite impresssed with the company and happy my 3 GCSE’s are now over for my training.
I went off strong advice and studied the courses before I sat the exams and for that reason I found the exams very easy, my invigilator was a lovely woman each time who was very professional and put me at great ease.
I found after properly studying that the exams were what I expected them to be, the team were responsive if I needed them for questions and really don’t have a complaint I can think of :) thank you

The whole process from booking the exams to sitting them are very straightforward. During the exam the invigilators were very kind and made you feel at ease. Customer services were very helpful and quick at responding to any queries. I sat the maths and science exams and passed them both. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star is I feel the price of courses and exams are quite expensive especially as extras added on.

I finally passed my English and maths after 3 attempts, very expensive stressful experience, you pay for anything course exams, fast track results, ….ect everything costed me 15600£ or more.
Thè exams were very hard and long in 2hours, their marking is very tricky.
Thank GOD is over.
Best luck everyone.

The process itself is simple enough to book etc. HOWEVER, I think the exam was unnecessarily difficult (foundation maths). As someone who works in schools and did well over 25 past GCSE exam papers, my exam was very different to all the other exams I had done.
And I know they'll probably reply and say their exams are within range or moderated but anyone who's seen a past GCSE paper and then done an A star paper will say the same.
Considering most people that do GCSE equivalent exams are adults simply looking to show competency for further education or a job I don't know why they'd make it so much more difficult.
To put it in perspective I was scoring an average of 80% on past papers (marking myself very strictly) whereas I scored 60% on the A star exam.
Genuine advice from me and what others have said to me, if you don't want to spend loads of money on re-writes find a different company to do your exam with.

Jack was great at explaining the way the course would work and explained all of my options. He was patient and allowed me time and space to ensure the course was the right fit for me and didn't try to force the issue. Jack was also very supportive when I encountered a few issues when enrolling too, but was amazing at guiding me through.

Dear A Star Equivalency Team,
Thank you for inviting me to provide an honest review of my experience.
Unfortunately, my overall experience has been disappointing. Throughout the process, I have spent a significant amount of money, close to £1,000 in total.
On one occasion, I experienced a technical issue which prevented me from accessing the Google Meet session for my examination. Despite this, I was required to pay an additional £50 to sit the examination again, which I found frustrating given that the issue was technical rather than related to my academic preparation.
When I sat the examination for the second time, I felt that I performed very well. I also showed my work afterwards to experienced professionals, and based on the standard of my responses, I genuinely expected a higher result, approximately Grade 7. However, I received 54 marks, which resulted in a Grade 5.
I was particularly disappointed by the marking. From my perspective, the assessment appeared extremely strict, and I felt that some elements of my work were marked more harshly than I expected. Having reviewed the level of English I demonstrated in the examination, I personally believe the performance was stronger than the final grade suggested.
When I questioned the result, I was then asked to pay an additional fee for a review or remark. After already paying substantial fees throughout the process, this added further to my dissatisfaction.
I fully understand that examinations must be assessed according to established marking criteria, and I respect the need for academic standards. Nevertheless, based on my personal experience, I did not feel that the overall process represented good value for money, particularly considering the additional charges and my concerns regarding the marking.
This is my honest feedback based entirely on my own experience. Unfortunately, if I needed to complete another equivalency examination in the future, I would be unlikely to use A Star Equivalency again.
I hope this feedback is taken constructively and helps improve the experience for future candidates.
Kind regards,
Amir-Abbas

I had a really positive experience with Jack from A Star Equivalency. He has been helping me throughout the entire process, even before I made my purchase. Unfortunately, I have been facing several issues with the payment from my side, and despite all the difficulties, Jack has been incredibly patient, helpful, understanding and kind.
He has taken the time to guide me through every step, tried different solutions and done his best to help me resolve the problems. I really appreciate his patience, professionalism and willingness to help, especially when things haven't gone as smoothly as expected.
Thank you, Jack, for your excellent support and for not giving up on helping me. I truly appreciate all your efforts and highly recommend his customer service!

A Star Equivalency represented by William, the adviser that helped me with my GSCE English Exam Application, have proven to be very helpful and supportive towards booking an exam date next day, which worked great for me as I needed something last minute due to some personal circumstances.

The whole experience was an absolute nightmare.
All what A star equivalency care about withdrawing as much money as they can from you.
My experience was that I booked with them the 480 £ package that includes the exam and the course. I rebooted my exam once because of some personal circumstances to be rescheduled in August. After preparing for a long time and it was my exam day, the examiner said that the Internet connection is poor, although my husband is working from home and has online meeting almost everyday aand he never complained. So it was very obvious that the connection was poor at their end. I contacted them that it was very frustrating for me to dedicate more than half of my holiday studying, then they ask me to pay 50£ fees to rebook, and it was not my fault. They did nothing and asked me to pay the fee to proceed with my exam. I had nothing to do but to pay as I initially paid 480 £.
My school suggested that I can rebook the exam jn September to be able to use the school's Internet so as not to experience the same problem again, so I paid the fees and rescheduled my exam to 9th of September. I had to take my exam and issue the results before 15th of September to apply for the teacher training, that is why I had also to pay an extra 54£ fee for fast track results in order not to.miss the application. So because of something that is not my fault, I had to pay over 100£ apart from the initial 480£. On the exam date, they asked for ID verification and I showed them my BRP (which I also viewed on the previous trial and they verified it) and it says on my BRP that it expires i 2024, as they no longer issue any physical BRP but instead there is an E visa that verifies my BRP and is recognised by every organisation. I told that to the examiner and offered him to view my Evisa that verifies that my BRP is valid, but he refused and insisted that the physical ID should be valid and any other electronic forms cannot be accepted, so I needed to show him my passport. I had my exam at the school, so I didn't have my passport with me then, so I begged the examiner to show him my E visa that still verifies my identity, and if it was not valid, I should have been told about it during ID verification of my previous exam attempt, and I told him that I paid my fast track results to get my results before 15th of September and I might not be able to apply and miss the deadline, but he insisted to end the exam. I contacted the customer service and also told me they couldn't do anything about it except to book me the earliest available exam date, but I should also pay the rebooking fees. I told them that I bad already spent a lot of money and I can't afford to pay any more but they said that I had to pay anyway. I had no other option but to pay, as I wanted to have my exam to apply for the teacher training. So overall instead of paying 480£ which is not considered to be a large amount of money, I had to pay 480+50+100+50 in total. So before booking an exam with them, be prepared to pay an extra 100-150 pounds. Such a horrible experience with A Star. They suck money of you, poor customer service, and unreliable examiners. I forgot to say that on their course I had taken mock exams and my answers have been marked and I got grade 7 (according to DR Cliver their AI marker) but finally I got a grade 5, and I could have failed the exam, as they are very unfair in their marking too.
