Afternic is good enough for basic use. The only reason I use it is because it syndicates domains to GoDaddy, which helps with exposure. Other than that, I wouldn’t rely on it. The user interface is ve... See more

My experience was strictly with regard to questions and answers and the staff at Afternic were great. They answered all my questions to the best of their ability - even those they didn't have to. They offered their best advice and I appreciated it.

Beware. If you ever register an interest in one of their parked domains, Drew Zarczynski and Vlastian Slaveykov will forever haunt your inbox. Even when they warn that they'll remove you from their file, and you say "go ahead!", they'll continue to show up every couple months to ask "is it time?". If I had more money than sense then yes I would buy one of your domains, but until then...

Customer Service was on target , very helpful and efficient. Looking forward to selling my URLs
Hi everybody !
The reviews about Afternic is SO mixed, I'm a bit confused.
One of my domain that used to be on Godaddy got a seller through Afternic, but I have to admit that after reading reviews here, I don't know how trustfull the site is regarding the paiement (and custumer service that seems absolutely awfull)
If someone here SOLD a domain recently, I'd love your input.
Cheers
Professional Review of AfterNIC (GoDaddy) — Ongoing Payout Issues
Alleged Payout Date: October 29, 2025
Domain Sold: wholesalelending.com
Expected Payout: $799.20
I am writing to document my continued dissatisfaction with AfterNIC/GoDaddy’s handling of my auction proceeds. While the platform initially notified me on October 29, 2025 that my funds were “on the way” to my designated payout method, GoDaddy has repeatedly delayed disbursement and has not demonstrated a meaningful effort to resolve the matter.
Timeline of Events
Oct 29, 2025 – GoDaddy informed me that my payout of $799.20 had been scheduled to my bank account.
Nov 11, 2025 – I notified GoDaddy of my concern that the company appeared to be holding auction proceeds instead of releasing them promptly. While the amount is modest, these delays—when multiplied across many sellers—inevitably generate meaningful interest income for the company, which I believe is unfair.
Nov 12, 2025 – I received an automated message confirming updates to my contact and payment details, as well as the completion of my 1099. I expressed concern that no substantial effort had been made to assist with the 1099 process and requested confirmation that the matter was being advanced properly.
Nov 17, 2025 – GoDaddy stated that my tax information would be cross-checked with IRS records and that funds would be resubmitted within “up to 48 business hours” once validated.
Nov 26, 2025 – I received another generic request to submit a new W-9. I complied. I then received follow-up messages stating that updates to my contact details had “invalidated” the previously submitted form. I complied again.
Despite providing every requested document—multiple times—the payout remains unresolved.
Primary Concerns
Delayed Payouts:
It appears that GoDaddy benefits financially from withholding seller payouts while earning interest on aggregated funds. Their own documentation states funds are released within “1–7 business days,” yet the delays far exceed this timeframe.
Generic and Vague Communications:
Most communications I received were automated, non-specific, and gave no clear sense of progress or accountability.
Poorly Designed Payment Interface:
The payment section of the website is difficult to navigate, with unclear instructions. The “W-9” is not a traditional W-9 form but rather an internal online data entry and e-signature process. Clear directions such as
“Please complete the online W-9 located in the ‘Edit Payment’ section under Payments”
would have prevented unnecessary confusion.
Slow Review Times:
Each form submission triggered further delays with no indication that the matter was being escalated or actively reviewed.
Conclusion
My frustration lies primarily with the repetitive, generic communication, the inadequately designed website navigation, and the significant delays in receiving payment. The buyer pays GoDaddy immediately, yet the seller is left waiting—repeatedly asked to resubmit information while receiving no meaningful support. In my view, this pattern suggests a systemic issue and raises concerns that payout delays may be financially advantageous to the company.
I hope this review encourages improvements in transparency, communication, and payout efficiency for all sellers on the platform.

I was selling a domain for the first time and their customer support rep (Lyubov) was very patient and thorough in walking me through all of the steps. I had a lot of questions and she clear, concise and consultative in walking me through the various options available which I greatly appreciated!

I had a pretty minor problem, but Afternic handled it really quickly, easily, and nicely. Thank you!
Afternic.com is the best at selling my domains.
I love you Afternic.com

Besides that they dared to scan another site for one of my sites making a deiving offer for it.
I decided to give them a chance, but no, now I don't want to have anything to do with this company.
Yesterday I tried to list several domains there, in thier cluncky site, a pain to do that.
Then I tried to set my Wise bank acount, nothing worked, they asked for data that does not even exist.
Basta.
Now I want to cancel my account with them, and I have to wait 30 days?? That's ridiculous and crazy:
loose yourself, afternic
Edit: You have no shame, I don't know how you dare to ask me to do anything.
I'm not going to move a finger for the sake of you.
Just cancel my account and end of story.
Basta

Afternic's Marketing is Completely Worthless. I was retiring from residential real estate sales in 2024 and figured there was a market for my simple, easy to remember URL. Afternic suggested that my URL was worth a little over $1,600. I didn't get one single nibble, even as I steadily dropped the offering price to $200. At one point I clicked on a link as if I was a buyer, to see what happens. I was contacted by a sales person and I explained the reason I contacted them. (No response.) They may as well offer a line of coal-powered pencil sharpeners.
On November 10, 2025 I received the following message:
"Reply from Afternic

Hello Paul,
Thank you for your feedback. I would like to better understand your experience and have sent you a request through Trustpilot for additional information.
My thanks,
Joe"
--> Joe, you might have told me what you didn't understand. Your automated form asked for a Reference Number, which wasn't included in your reply. I filled in the other lines but didn't notice a place for my response. (I admit I didn't look very hard, but it may not be there anyway.)
---> Look, *WAY* too many people in tech think they can successfully automate everything and avoid actual human contact. I think that policy is irresponsible and incredibly lazy. <---
If I could post negative stars for Afternic's service I would.

Worst service ever I tried selling my domain through them first they took out my domain from GoDaddy and then put it back saying the transaction got cancelled and then they locked my afternic.com account.
Will never recommend anyone to use afternic.com for buying or selling the domain.

I had a rather involved and slightly complex set of questions around how I could best set a length of months for the lease/sale option that Afternic uses.
While I did need to get a couple of responses first without what I considered a complete answer, they stayed with me and Yana A showed me the whole picture which I found it very helpful. I've had multiple sales go through and they do a great job.

I am extremely disappointed with how Afternic (a GoDaddy brand) has handled my account.
After successfully completing a legitimate sale and fully cooperating with Afternic’s Transaction Assurance process, my account was suddenly permanently suspended without any clear reason or warning.
I contacted support multiple times asking for clarification, but they only replied with generic messages saying I had “violated the Terms of Service” — without providing a single specific detail or evidence.
This kind of action is completely unfair and damages the trust of honest sellers like myself.
I followed all rules, verified my domains, and always acted in good faith.
I strongly urge Afternic’s senior compliance team to review my account manually and reconsider this decision. Closing accounts without evidence or transparency is not acceptable for a company owned by GoDaddy.
I hope Afternic will take this matter seriously and restore my account.

They cheat people.
Horrible company with strange complicated procedures to insure they do not pay customers after selling their domain names.
