A once great resource trashed by Pluralsight
I've used this site for years and always found it great. I always found the content good and the website itself easy to navigate. The labs and access to test cloud environments are awesome for practicing. Unfortunately, PluralSight has now taken them over and shut them down. Some courses are moved to PluralSight. However, the PluralSight UI is so bad as to make much of the content impossible to find and navigate. Content that were once presented as courses are now a jumbled mess on PluralSight. A real shame that such a great resource has been trashed.
Advertised "lifetime access"
Advertised "lifetime access", paid for lifetime access, lifetime access is now terminated. Do not trust any site that offers lifetime access to courses, it's a hoax
Termination of lifetime access
Been an A Cloud Guru user for years, with lifetime access. Pluralsight (who took them over) have peremptorily cancelled all lifetime users with no compensation or explanation. Even worse, they are quoting THEIR terms as a legal basis, when we all signed up to a different set of terms. the Pluralsight terms are irrelevant. I'd be interested to see if there are any legal challenges or class actions.
AVOID PLURALSIGHT as they do not honour their commitments.
Minus point available?
If there is minus point, I want to give negative stars.
I have been going through the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (SAA-C03) and 50% of the content is opening and closing comments as well as useless exam tips. Just explaining what the concept is, how it is used is enough. Stop welcoming and farewelling on each video module.
Stop crapping on and on, just get to the point, will you? Such a waste of time.
Been using ACG for years but..
Been using A Cloud Guru (ACG) as I really liked the hands on labs they acquired from Linux Academy.
Sadly, since Pluralsight acquired ACG, the platform became outdated, with some courses not fully migrated from LA, some broken labs, etc.
I took no less than 200 hours of content from this platform, which helped me to pass many certification exams (most of them AWS), but I'm not feeling confident about the platform anymore.
Last year I switched to KodeKloud as I found it to be the best platform for my skills (I work as a DevOps Engineer).
I'm really thankful for the good years of ACG, but now it's not a platform I could recommend anymore.
Edit: Cloud playgrounds are still good imo
Very poor courses quality
Very poor courses quality. Some of them are outdated, most of them are superficial and wordy. Learning paths — the most important feature — contain random courses that has duplicate information.
Will try another platform.
ACG Quality has dramatically dropped…
ACG Quality has dramatically dropped since Pluralsight purchase.
In the past ACG was leader in cloud training with excellent up to date content delivered by excellent instructors, which in the fast moving cloud world is essential.
Now a significant amount of the content is out of date.
There is nothing worse than spending many hours studying for an exam only to find the content you studied and the exam are out of alignment.
Ryan.. please return and get the business back on track.
Support existent
Similar to other reviews, support is nonexistent, no replies for paying customers, wouldn't recommend.
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service, and overpriced for what they provide. They won't respond when asking for refunds on accidental purchases. This company is a scam, do not buy from them.
basic log in issues? really
How on earth is this service supposed to educate me about the cloud when it can not even fix its most fundamental login problem? It is frustrating that Acloudguru keeps telling me my password is incorrect. I have changed my password and tried again, but it still does not work.
What have Pluralsignt done!
Since the Pluralsight takeover it's gone super-buggy. No one responds to support tix. Courses Don't seem to be getting updated.
R.I.P. A Cloud Guru. You were once quite good.
ACloud guru seem to be dead
ACloud guru seem to be dead, nobody is responding at support, I get a generic email from Pluralsight who has taken over but nobody is responding.
Looks like ACG is dead in the water
Looks like ACG is dead in the water. No one is home. I tried to renew membership but despite being approved as a regular payment it had simply failed to renew. Now they want me to buy a plan at full price. Content is 2 years old. Contacted support but no one has responded. Now my account has been restricted.
No way to get answer from support
My company has plan for ACloudGuru and all accounts get created via SSO (okta). Once I got invitation to join, it was asking me to change email and upon further navigation through series of their documents, turns out it has to be "cloud guru" support changing the email, which is understandable. Here's the worst part, I created ticket, which is the only way to reach support, I got immediate response saying we're working on it. Its been month and a half, no response to original request to change the email at all. What a disaster with how they're managing this. Absolutely worst of the worst experience.....
Unfortunately ACG is dead
I loved this product until Pluralsight aquired ACG. But now its completely broken. Courses are outdated or
half-hearted updated, famous series like "AWS this week" discontinued, no new contents, unresponsive support in course forums.
Overall it's pretty decent.
Pretty good, especially if it's part of your employment training resources.
+ Lots of good content
+ The labs are very good
- Some content is quite dated
- Quality of content can vary across courses
Old-school processes, lengthy contracts, small print that ties you in
We found this company to be really antiquated (ironically) with lots of manual processes and an apparent business model of tying customers into long contracts.
They've got clauses in the small print which mean you must give written notice to a specific email well in advance of the contract renewing, otherwise you're tied in for another year. However, that email address bounces.
We found that the only way to give notice was to talk to the account manager, but since that call wasn't recorded, they've not accepted that as proof that we wanted to leave.
In my view, any company that has sub-par content and yet ties customers in even when they no longer have a use for the product, is a dinosaur and best avoided - especially when there are much more modern training providers out there.
Almost everything is out of date.
Almost everything is out of date.
This is the third year of subscription (Personal Plus) and will be the last one with they.
Disapointing!
I spent £290 on Personal Plus…
I spent £290 on Personal Plus subscription only to find old and outdated AWS material. AWS released new exams and the material I found on ACG is outdated and have very less number of services covered. Extremely disappointing on wasting £290.
ACG for no good anymore
I've been on ACG for 3 years. My 2022 experience was disappointing.
I wasn't satisfied with few course content as the lecturer literally delivers the course by reading terraform official documents, just the way it is, for almost all the time. I've taken several terraform courses with the same lecturer, and my experience remained the same. I submitted feedback several times, but I never heard back from ACG.
I think rating and feedback are there for a reason. Please work on feedback and get back to your subscribers. At this point, I feel like you're paying someone for reading documents in a PowerPoint slide, which is boring and doesn't add any value to gaining knowledge. Sadly, I found their focus is more on quantity rather than quality which is quite disappointing. It wasn't this case earlier though.
TBH, I don't see value in ACG anymore. I can better get $10 course on Udemy and obviously better service than ACG.
