poor returns policy

poor returns policy and poor customer service today i contacted to tesco because my t. . v . broke they will not accept it back at the store without ringing the premium rate contact number first they tell me it is policy to take away an repair in the first instance and they can not exchange for a new one in store very disappointed. something to bear in mind that i have returned things to its biggest completer A**** before and they replace faulty goods and the customer service is much better i personally will never buy electrical goods from tesco again for this very and reason very very disappointed.

very helpful staff

I must say I am impressed with my local store, I had bought a coffee machine for my daughter but I no longer had the receipt. Upon opening the present she found that the outer shell was slightly cracked. The lady on custmoer service on the day we returned was very understanding and offerend to replace it for us without too much bother,

Tesco don't price match with tesco direct

Went to buy a gro clock from tesco today as tesco direct say it is currently unavailable, went in store and found it was £30, online it is normally £22.50 but currently is £20, went to customer service to ask if it was a pricing error to which I received the reply if no, asking if they would sell it for the tesco direct price at which point I was told tesco do not price match. Stating that it's hardly price matching at tesco direct is tesco, was still told they could not do anything, been loyal to tesco for a long time but now I have been let down and will be going elsewhere to buy everything in future.

Queue for ages at Tesco.

Our local Tesco in Gravesend is always understaffed. There was a large queue three quarters of an hour before closing time,Saturday 19th April with only ONE till open.
The young manager? on duty ( late shift and very professional I will add) explained that they needed to cash up and close on time as they had no extra hours. They would be closed Easter Sunday like everyone else.
The powers that be need to give these stores more staff and extra hours if needed.
Also the self service tills there constantly play up.
Asda, just up the road does not have this problem with their tills, so it is a 'Tesco' thing.
For a company that has so many stores it is more a case of quantity rather than quality.
Better customer service needed all round.

Tesco Wine on-line is useless

This may be a flashy-looking website, but it offers a poor service - out-of-stock wines that you don't find out about until you try to pay, then an alternative is ordered and paid for, only to be cancelled and refunded a couple of days later - unacceptable and unreliable - I don't think I'll bother again!

Rubbish Tesco won't replace sons broken Hudl without lost receipt!

Santa bought my 7 year old son a Tesco Hudl for Christmas in November from local Tesco store. This was part paid for using a Tesco clubcard boost voucher for a Hudl purchase. After 3 months the Hudl screen display stopped working correctly and basically you can't see anything on screen so it is unusable. My 7 year old son is inconsolable as he loves his Hudle!!!! I spoke to the store but they said said they needed receipt which I have lost but advised me to contact customer services which I did. My husband was with me when I bought it which according to consumer law a witness is proof of purchase!!! They said they would try and locate the purchase using my clubcard number but have said they can't find it and so can't do anything else to help!!! I find this ridiculous as it is a Tesco brand product that only they sell and it has only been on the market for just over 6 months so is well in warranty so why can't they take it back and repair it!! Also why can't they locate the clubcard purchase on their system surely they have records of transactions as they have to keep accounts to pay the tax man!!!! I am at a loss what to do now! I can't afford to replace it and my don is so so upset. Tesco are now not responding to my emails so I won't be buying anything else from them totally shocking service !

Potential Incompetence

So I recently ordered an item through the click and collect service and was disapponted by the service I've received so far. Annoyingly I've used click and collect before and it's actually been really effecient and reliable but this instance just got on my nerves. I ordered the product in the evening and then sure enough the following day it stated that the item had been dispatched. However alarm bells began to chime when I went to track the parcel and the company had no record of the number I entered. On the expected date of delivery I got zero updates from the usual email system and chose to venture to the store after 16:00 anyway as it stated most parcels arrive by then on the estimated day of delivery. When I arrived the staff member said they hadn't had any direct deliveries for a few days now and they couldn't provide me with an explanation as to why. So, kind of frustrated at this point I went home and rang the contact number to inquire as to what was going on. I was told that it seemed the delivery driver had been but there has been no one there at the door to accept his delivery so he'd left. Really? Three days on the trot? Either I'm being misled or someone is seriously incompetent at the store in question. That or the delivery man was knocking on a sponge. It really pains me to have this happen because as I stated earlier I've had very good experiences with this service in the past. Now I've changed the chosen store for delivery in the hopes that someone might be around to collect the stock that gets delivered, you know, just on the off chance! Anyway, I have no idea when this item will actually arrive because as of now the item is showing in my account as 'return requested' and 'replacment being sent'. Hopefuly I can avoid this sort of thing in future by picking specific stores that seem more on the ball with this service. Incidentally I will state that every member of staff I spoke to was pleasant and tried to help which is a plus point.

My very first shop expierience with Tesco.

would just like to give you my view of my first on line shop with Tesco.
It was delivered as arranged on time by a decent cheerful chap. However I was most surprised to find you were delivering only 8 out of the 15 items that I had ordered. I am severely disabled and in very poor health and was hoping to use your delivery service as a life line. I do wonder why I was not notified of this before the delivery thus enabling me to try and make other arrangements.
I have since been back to your website and these missing items are showing as being in stock. Does this mean that if I was to order again that I would be charged for delivery again.
One of the main reasons for ordering on line is because my carer who normally shops at the Infirmary Road Sheffield branch of Tesco complains that they don't always have the stocks that you are showing on line. She is always given the same pack answer that it will be available at the larger stores. My carer herself is not well either at the moment so I thought that it would be a good idea to try your delivery service. So all in all I am rather disappointed and look forward to what you have to say about the matter

Tescos in Thetford.

A review for the main superstore in Thetford, Norfolk.

For starters the food is usually mispriced. So there's an offer for a product, only to find out later that it hasn't been applied!

Some of the staff seem quite rude (both checkout and the shelf stackers); I've lost count how many times I've been given dirty looks (whilst minding my own business), and being stared at. Don't the staff have to abide by some kinda conduct when dealing with paying customers?

Orders to collect with ease with tips.

I always use Tesco direct at Christmas, saving up all my points and then double them up. My advice to make things go smoothly is:
1, make a list of what you want a couple of weeks before including price and item number.
2, use click and collect it's faster and convenient, but don't hang about they will get sent back if you leave it too late.
3, As soon as you get your vouchers make the order, time is of the essence. You dont have to wait till they are posted as they will be stored at checkout, Items will go out of stock fast this time of year.
4, vouchers are waiting at the checkout to be doubled up, but remember to write down the ones you have used. Because if you make another order straight after they are still there, but don't be fooled and tempted to add them again. It will mess up your order.
5, Finally when you collect from store, take a copy of the order and check off what you have recieved. Because if you have a big order like me, it's easy to forget one. And if they are all there you can ignore any alerts saying you have some left, there is always a system glitch. On Occasions the odd item will get delivered a day or to late don't worry its on its way. You will be prompted to collect.

Good luck with your orders. In general at this time of year I order £ 350 worth of toys and cost me as little as £5 thanks to the vouchers. But I do order through the year. But click and collect were available is best for me because I hate deliveries. They waste a day and if something is wrong you have to take to store any how.

Rude and miserable staff

I went to my local Tesco Express last Friday and purchased a few things. I got home and one item wasn't there. I was going out an hour later and so I drove past to say that I hadn't got it. Has the assistant left it but the side where they scan and put it down. The assistant said 'no I out it in your bag and you checked it!' To which I knew if hadn't until I got home. Anyway, I said to the manager that I had checked and he said 'it's probably in your car or something! You will find it soon I expect!' I had to purchase another item as I still hadn't the one I received. At this point the female assistant was at the rear of the small shop discussing in a loud voice what she thought of me and that she was telling the truth! I did not at all feel happy with the way this was being dealt with. The manager took my receipt and wrote my number on. He said he couldn't check the security camera as it wasn't working at that moment! So he phoned an hour later to say he had checked the camera and that it showed the assistant putting the item into the bag. It is Monday now and I still do not have the product they took money for and the manager has my receipt. I am disappointed in this. I phoned customer services today and they 'assured' me that all Tesco employees tell the truth! Ha. Well I won't be going there again. Really upset with them.

Good until the point they delivered then poor

Well, first time we used Tesco online shopping for the weekly shop. Looking and selecting the goods was fine. Was quite impressed on how much we saved over some of the competitors. Now I know why.
The freezer selection of all our goods was missing from the delivery, we noticed this at the point of putting it away as we had planned on something within the freezer for tea (good job). We was missing 6 not overly cheap items, so, called the number on the receipt which is chargeable to mobiles which is a really good starting point, and was presented by a very apologetic person who was to be fair sympathetic to what had happened and would try to sort what had happened. 15mins later we recieved a call to say they cant get in touch with the delivery driver and we should call back in an hour. Great I was thinking, an evening of calling tesco to find my shop. An hour had passed, so, we called back at the point someone knocked at the door with what appeared to be the 'missing freezer foods'. The delivey driver sped of so quickly we didnt get chance to check what had been re-delivered and, to my amazment, was missing another item... 2 problems, same customer, same delivery yet the customer service representative tells me they never recieve issues and yet there is a dedicated telephone line, hhmmmmmm.

The fact of the matter is not everything goes right first time, but for Tesco not second time either... the money you save is spent on the phone calls and time wasted.. Happy shopping

Cancelled my order twice without informing me!

I placed an online order- click and collect - and I had to drive to the only Tesco Extra in town, and be told that my order was cancelled. The second time I did this, it was cancelled again. I was unhappy because of all that time wasted travelling, but the two managers that I spoke to were aggressive and not helpful at all.

I phoned headquarters and they gave me a £10 e-voucher. To use on another click and collect order? No thanks! I'm sick of this nonsense.

Bad attitude

I have had home delivery from Tesco a few times now and its always been hit or miss, this time the delivery driver was so bad mannered I felt I needed ro write a review. I asked him why there are always so many substitutions on food items, when I have ticked the box asking that if there was to be substitutions then I would rather take the item off the order.
The driver replied 'Why do people keep asling me stupid questions, I don't know!'
Fair enough if he didnt know, but he made the experience so unhappy I will order home delivery from another company now.

Other than the grump drivers I have had my shopping delivered by some lovely drivers who have been extremely helpful and friendly.

Poor Service

I ordered a TV for my fathers new home, it came to my nearest Tesco express. I took it home, set it up, it wouldn't work. Rang customer services, they told me to phone technical support. I phoned them, they agreed TV was broken,to package it back up and phone customer services, again. I did and they said in 3 days another one would be delivered, I was to swap them over. I went to my local Tesco express on Thursday evening as I was instructed and there was no TV for me. No one knew where my TV was. I left the broken TV with the manager as I have small 2 seater car and I'd got a lift to the store with the TV. I went back to my fathers new flat and apologized for no TV. He has nothing to occupy him living alone and I felt sorry for him as he should have had new TV last Saturday so I got a taxi to the nearest Tesco superstore and bought a TV off the shelf and took it home and tried to set it up for my father which was impossible as it didn't come with an aerial like last one did!! I told my Father to go to bed and I'd sort new aerial in morning, which I did. I rang Tesco they told me my replacement TV went to a totally random express store in my town. Which incidently I passed in my taxi to the superstore to by one off the shelf late on Thursday evening!! I've had a nightmare getting a refund, I've had an extra £30 to pay as the TV I wanted wasn't available in store, I had to choose another, i had to travel to maplins and buy a tv aerial, I've also had a £25 taxi bill to urgently by a TV off shelf and my elderly, ill Father who had no TV for a week!! All Tesco have to say is if I still want the same model TV which was broken they'll discount £15 off it! Unbelievable! Will not be buying anything from Tesco direct again! Poor customer service!!

Not what it used to be

Have used Tesco practically since their beginning when they stacked them high (not on shelves but in cardboard cartons), defended their foods to my sister who uses Sainsburys, loved their Clubcard vouchers, used Tesco Bank - but sorry they are losing it for me and in the last 4 months I now get my shopping delivered by Sainsburys or Waitrose. It started with some of their Tesco Finest Meals, not quite what was expected from their premier range - eg Aberdeen Angus Steak Pasta - in fact a small amount of mince in a pasta bake. But anything I can quote is just my opinion - just my disappointment. So tonight I went to their Wine by the Case - I had a £10 voucher to spend - was immediately hooked by their 'EXTRA 15% off mixed cases' - But Extra off What? After spending half hour trying to see exactly what bargain I might be getting I have finally given up on Tesco - Totally. In a nutshell I don't trust them any more, from the quality of their food to their slogans/bargains - and why should I have to use facebook to lodge an opinion?
For me a Sad passing of an era really, 1978 - 2014 RIP

First time online grocery buyervand i'm satisfied

Ordered my groceries late friday, found a delivery availablefor saturday at 4 pm.
Driver came 7 mins late and apologised for the delay due to traffic, tesco send me a text advising me about that.
Few items were not available and on 1 item i was offered a substitute, the driver advised me about that. He checked my eggs with me, allowing me to know that is they were broken i would have had a full refund.
I had 1 bottle of wAter broken, he noted that and told me i'll have it refunded.
The driver was polite, gentle and carried my 6 crates into the kitcken, helping me unload my bags.
As a first buyer i used a 12 pound online discount voucher, so im super happy.
I ve ordered frozen food, as well as fridge food and vegetables. All was as if i just purchased it from store myself, with the only difference that i dont need to kill myself carrying all the bags :))

join my tesco boycott

tesco tricked me into getting car insurance off them by promising a free pressure washer. the washer never arrived despite numerous calls. i cancelled the insurance and have spent nothing , and i mean not a thing in their stores since. that was 4 or maybe 5 years ago now and man do i feel good. i have to confess that on occasion i do pop into their customer toilets and leave them something.....but i don't believe it to be of any monetrary value, or else i wouldn't even give them that.

surly drivers warning

I used to regularly order online grocery shopping from tesco, but it seemed the more i used them, the more surly the deliverers they sent were. It was clear they expect YOU to come and pick up the shopping, which I did do to help them. But the one time I didnt due to being ill, the delivery driver, a big burly man who certainly had more muscles than manners, looked angry at me, I asked if he was 'alright', which he didnt reply to, mouthing 'unbelievable' under his breath. I therefore refuse to shop with tesco anymore. I suspect the deliverers are like this with those who live where it is a bit more strenuous aka stairs or long driveways, i certainly dont live somewhere impossible to deliver to by any means, though! I suspect such an attitude is due to tesco's preeminence in the online grocery delivery market mixed with someone who doesnt give a #@$& about losing a customer if it saves him carrying things (very easily carryable for a normal-proportioned healthy person) up stairs.

The bottom line? Use [External Link]. The deliverers are always nice, and its cheaper too. Its no wonder theyre taking tesco's business. Just be sure to carry things to help them out, its only fair :-)
