Amazon Logistics make them a lottery.

If it wasn't for the delivery lottery you run when ordering with Amazon I would have rated them 4 or 5 stars. I have ordered small low cost items from them many times and rarely had a problem. However, whenever I've ordered a bulky or expensive item from them I feel like it is a total toss up if you even get the goods. Firstly I ordered an exercise bike from them at Christmas, the first one arrived damaged, and Amazon to their credit replaced the bike straight away, for one with exactly the same fault. My next poor experience with them was when I ordered a PS4 with next day delivery. Unfortunately what I didn't understand is that these orders are delivered by 'Amazon Logistics' this appears to be a fancy name for random blokes in white vans, whose recent lobotomy surgery has caused them to be released from the basement at Royal Mail. The day the parcel was due to arrive it's status changed to 'out for delivery', I dutifully waited in between 7am and 9pm expecting a delivery that never came. I rang Amazon who although sympathetic couldn't give me any clue why I hadn't received the parcel, to cut a long story short my next day delivery still hadn't arrived after 5 days. At this point I got a full refund and the Amazon representative wasn't able to speak to the depot but could change the status to 'lost'. It's not specific to Amazon but it does grind my gears that they can take money from your account instantly but cannot process your refund for 2-3 days + however long your bank takes to put it back into your account.

Good
-Never had a problem buying small items from them.
-Loads of products.
-Customer service calls have always been handled sympathetically and as well as can be expected with the lack of tracking information they have.

Bad
-Items that are factory seconds aren't clearly marked as such.
-Terrible courier service.
-Their system doesn't seem to provide enough information.
-Take the money quickly, return it slowly.

Always a good time

I never had a bad experience with Amazon and iv'e used them over 50 times over the last few years, any problems i've had have been with a product not with Amazon and they have always been helpful in resolving the problem.

Customer led????????

There has been so much negative feedback on the loss of Free SS delivery......and Amazon are just not listening, so much for the idea that they listen to customers. It's not just that something was free and we lost it.......many of us abroad would be happy to have some reasonable deal ( up the spend limit for free delivery, have some scale whereby the more you buy the cheaper delivery gets..... the options are many ).
Meanwhile like so many others, I have found alternative sources. Amazon was for many years a 'default' location for purchase - not any more.

Extremely disappointed over the cancellation of super saver.

I've shopped a lot at Amzon - at least £ 500 a year for the past 3-4 years. Amazon differed from the rest of the online stores by offering free delivery for orders over £ 25. Now that this option is no longer available, I will use other alternatives.

I've been extremely pleased with Amazon until now, and I've found many books that i would not have heard of if i hadn't checked "other users bought". The user reviews were also great guides. But the P&P cost is a heavy factor, and Amazon is no longer cheapest. I do understand that Amazon wants to maximize their profit, but the profit made on me will now be 0.

Byebye Amazon

Amazon cancelled free shipping to, amongst other European countries, The Netherlands. Reason given: none. Bad move Amazon! Last 6 months I placed 112 orders for many thousands of pounds. Future orders? A couple maybe, if the price is right.

Outrageous postage rates and misleading prices excluding VAT

The ending of the Free Super Saver Delivery to many EU countries while introducing ridiculous postage rates to those very countries was an extremely bad move from Amazon. Announcing the ending of the FSSD the day AFTER it was ended was incredibly rude and not customer-centric at all (although I never got the email but others have - it was such a nice surprise to have a look at one´s shopping basket and see the £56 postage rate added to the £70 order one was about to place). The postage rates have gone through the roof and are now prohibitive for the majority of European customers.

Furthermore, I find it misleading that prices are now shown without VAT which the customer needs to calculate separately by clicking the "Estimate VAT, postage and packaging" button on the right hand side of the screen. This is obviously an attempt to make the prices seem lower and more attractive to the customer than they actually will end up being. Previously the prices initially shown included VAT. In this respect, Amazon now resembles a certain low cost airline that used to use the same tactics to entice customers.

I will not be buying anything at all from Amazon unless the Free Super Saver Delivery is introduced again, even if one had to spend £50 or so to qualify for it.

No European Free Super Saver delivery

Advising customers AFTER the removal of their European free super saver delivery shows their lack of customer care ... I will no longer be using Amazon and can find many other websites that DO offer me free delivery to Europe.

Ordering proces is ridicolous

A lot of stuff cannot be delivered to for example Denmark, but in order to find out you have to add it to your cart, and do a checkout, before you are infomed that there is a problem with the order. When I am logged in it should be possible to filter searches, so that the suppliers that will not send to other countries like Denmark is hidden. I have used Amazon.co.uk and amazon.de a lot, but this amazingly stupid and user unfriendly ordering process makes me think about whether i want to be subject to that in the future. Amazon.de has a lot fever suppliers that will not send to Denmark, but the principle is the same, that you have to do a checkout before you are notified of the situation. It is a serious time waster for a customer

No longer a customer

Amazon removed the Free Super Saver Delivery which means that I no longer will be buying from them, because the cost for shipping is too expensive! It's a shame for Amazon because I had a lot of books on my wishlist I was going to buy but now i'm buying them somewhere else with free delivery!

No use for the danes

Due to sudden withdrawal of FREE Super Saver Delivery the prices are simply ridiculous. I am from Denmark where I can buy most of the products cheaper. And that tells a lot why Denmark is one of the most expensive countries to live in.

I will never return to Amazon.co.uk while FREE Super Saver Delivery is missing. If I could choose to give 0 stars I would definitely have done it. Especially due to the way Amazon.co.uk have handled the situation. No kind of compensation for European customers, no way of letting us know, and the fact that the changes was told to the customers the day AFTER they had been made!

Bye Amazon.co.uk!

Hidden Charges / Amazon Prime

Ordered something, got it, all good there.
Then I tried to work out on the overly complicated members area if I was signed up to anything. No, I was not.
1 month later I find a £79 charge on my bank statement for Prime.

I never asked for this and had to spend 20 minutes of my time trying to figure out how to contact them. Yes, I got a refund, but this to me is a very unethical way to conduct business!!!

Don't think I will use them again

No reward or respect for loyal European customers

The recent and unnanounced cancellation of the Free Super Service Delivery and an absurdly costly new range of delivery prices makes Amazon not even deserving 1 star.

Lack of respect for customers

I used to buy with Amazon.co.uk, but they lost me when me being a loyal customer was penalized by putting absurd shipping costs.

The products in Amazon.co.uk can easily be found at several other websites, most of the times with the same prices or even lower. However, the worst part are the shipping costs, that most of the times double the amount of the order cost.

Do not recommend, and won't buy again.

Extremely poor communication of sharp increase in shipping costs for Europe. No response to complaints that followed.

Amazon.co.uk recently increased shipping costs to Europe. This was communicated in the most impersonal arrogant way possible. There was no response to complaints that followed.

Shippingcosts too high for shipping to european countries

Amazon.co.uk suddenly stopped the free delivery to all european countries. Now the shipping costs are too high.
